'08 TL Door Moulding

I am currently leasing a 2008 TL (3.2L) and have 6-7 months remaining. I am thinking about my options at lease end and there is one seemingly minor issue that would prevent me from buying out the lease and keeping the car. The rubber door moulding that goes in the driver's side door opening keeps wearing out. I am talking about the seal that covers the gap between the two pieces on the sill.

It wears out exactly where my foot brushes over it when I enter and exit the vehicle. In 2 1/2 years, I have had it replaced three times. I have owned many cars and have never had this problem or any like it before. So my questions are -

1. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
2. If you have experienced this problem, how did you resolve it?

^lol. Ya it sounds like your foot is causing it, seeing how you are the first person to experience this problem. Nothing offensive, just saying lift that foot one inch and you will see a difference.

No offense taken. Clearly it is my foot that is causing it. That part is not in question. But I find it strange that in the 20+ years that I have been driving and owing a variety of cars that I never had this happen before, not even once.

I possibly could be that the material it is made from is really cheap...because if you have always done it, the material might be the problem. But this really shouldn't stop you from getting the TL.
