08 TL buy or trade?

My lease is up on my 2008 TL NAV/AT and I'm considering buying the car. I like this car a lot. I’m not ready to give it up and honestly prefer the styling and features over the new TL's. Mileage is 70K and will probably add another 70K over the next 3 years. I have not had one problem with this car, nothing, runs and rides like new. I've read about some transmission problems with 3G TL's although I can't seem to find the thread regarding the switch/fluid replacement suggestions and of course I’ll have the 105K service performed if I keep it. Any comments, opinions or advice?

Thanks in advance!

Buyout price is 16K plus tax so about 17K. Haven't made up my mind, kind of struggling with the decision. Would be a cheap loan to pay off over the next three years but if the tranny fails, that's cash I could have used for a down payment on a new car. I guess I'm wondering what the reliability has been like for existing owners up to 150K.

Thanks again!

I'd say keep it. Tranny should be fine once you change the switches and fluid.

120K on my car and only fix is timing belt, plus oil changes.

This is sound advice- you've owned the car (lease) since new, so you know its history. $16-17k, and you have a car that will easily last you to at least double the mileage you now have. To replace what you have will either require you to buy pre-owned, re-lease another car, or pay $40k or so for a new car.
