08 Acura TL-S...yes or no?

Ok well im thinking of buying the 08 TL-S later this aug. About almost a yr ago i got into a really bad accident with my 06 Acura TSX. Flipped the car about 7 times on the express. Glad im still alive. That car was amazing. Right now im thinking about getting the TL-S but ive been hearing negative feedback about this car about the rattles and the suspensions making problems over bumps. What do u guys think? I really want this car a lot but after hearing all of these problems I just dont know anymore.

The TSX is a great car. But, the TL-S is 10x better! Even if there are rattles here and there (some have 'em, some don't), you can't compare the two. If you have the money, the Type-S is the way to go.

P.S. Make sure you get the 6MT!

I am a first time Acura owner, so this is only my opinion. I've also seen tons of people talking about various rattles and the difficulties dealing with them. My 07TL-S has honestly has 0 rattles since I bought it new. Maybe I got lucky. The 07/08 TL-S is a beautiful car. If you want it bad enough get it. Keep this in mind....If you wait for the 09 TL-S it may be as bad if not worse. First production runs of a new car (or even a new design of an existing one) will always have various problems. These won't exist in later production runs, because the Manufacturer has had time to iron out all the bugs and figure out how to stop them in later runs. This is because of first run owners experiencing these problems (including rattles) and bringing them to their attention. If you really want that 08TL-S pick it up and enjoy it.

Just like the OP pointed out, 08 type-s would be a better choice than 07 type-s ... but I couldn't wait early last year so I got a 07 ... so far so good (knock on wood) ...

Have you test drive type-s yet? It's a different animal than TSX ...

6spd feels like a different car than the auto, i test drove the autos and they're awesome, but the 6psd is just sooo much more fun....i just picked mine up on Monday......so far i havent really heard these rattles, but every damn car is going to have some sort of a noise, even an S550 Benz

i have had my 07 type s for about 5 months...other than a few minor rattles that i have tracked down and fixed myself i have no negative issues other than the car can flat out get you into trouble with the law....love it, and if my car was totalled out today i would be headed back to the dealer to track down another one just like it....there just isnt another car out there in its price range that can compete inside and out...the car just flat out rocks

Yes - on TL-S. I have an '07 TL-S. NO rattles, not a single rattle, ZERO rattles...

My theory: If someone has a bad experience, they tell 10 people. if someone has a good experience, they tell 2 or 3 people. What you are hearing is disproportional to the actual number of issues. BUY IT

Have had my '08 TL-S for a few months now, and can't praise it enough. No rattles, no issues period. It is an absolute joy to drive. And yes, you will get in trouble in this car - it is just to damn sleek and sexy not to drive fast.

Totally agreed...few people post that thier car doesn't rattle...unless they're asked. I've only had my '08 TL-S for a few weeks but it's as tight as a drum!

I think a lot of the rattle complaints are from people that are just too picky and a tad unrealistic as far as a car would be, going over different types of terrain, potholes, speedbumps, etc. My car doesn't rattle to me though. I just got done driving my wife's 98 Prelude and it's a world of different car, not so much rattles, but just drivability and vibration wise.

join the elite club of 07/08 TL-S owners and you wont regret a day in your new ride. I rarely see other Type-S owners and everytime I do we both love the car and maybe even obsess a little too much.

If you were happy with your TSX, then you will be ecstatic about your TL-S. I have an '07 and I admire it everyday I see it.

If you flipped your TSX 7 times and survived, wtf do you care if you have a rattle?
Think you can drive too many cars that would leave you uninjured?
Read the latest crash tests from Consumer Reports...you'll be convinced!

You will have less chance of a rattle in the '08 than you will the '09.

I traded in my TSX about a month ago and my wife says that the smile hasn't left my face since. The TL-S is superior in every way (except gas mileage, but what do you expect going from 200 HP to 286HP?), so go for it, you won't regret it!

How is this even a question?

HELL YES!! Great Car.

2007 here; No Rattles.

If you wait too long there will probably be slim pickings - Color you want and/or MT harder to find due to impending '09 release.

I have owned 04, 06 07 TL and now 08 TL-S. I have driven the TSX several times. The TSX is a better built car (built in Japn) and feels tighter, but the TL is a way more fun car. Sure the TL still will have a squeak or 2 and the faded dash (easy fix, use Honda cleaner), but the Type-S is an amazing and awesome machine. Every day I enjoy driving it, the sterring is nimble you precise and good feel back. The handling is the same, great combo or handling and comfort, although if you have very bumpy roads the Type-S is a bit stiff and choppy then. The interior is comfortable and the Type-S seats are proabbly the best seats I have had in a car in many many years, and I have been test driving G35 and G35s and IS250, the Type-S seats are much better. Considering I have been essentially in the same car 4 times now over 4 years I still love my Type-S every day. The exterior styling is great, I look back at it evey morning when I get to work and tell myself how much I love this car. And I honestly beleive styling wise the 09 will never be as good, IMO the 07/08 Type-S is the best they will every style.

Nice, I do the same thing walking to my building in the mornings. I catch myself looking back at my car at least 2 or 3 times!

The only thing that you'll regret is if you can't have it because Acura stops its production due to new 09 model coming out. So start searching from now on for 08 TLS with 6MT because it's harder to get just the stick shift and exterior color of your choice.

Bought a 07 TL-S MT used with 3300 miles. Low VIN # which kind of worried me. Haven't put too many miles on the car but it seems very solid. I have been driving MT Taurus SHO's (several) for 15+ years. Still have 1 of them (winter car) been looking for the car to replace the summer SHO. Live in a low traffic environment so I want the MT The TL-S was the car that fit the bill. TL-S w/ MT Rocks.

No rattles here. Only problem was a bad battery easily replaced under warrenty. 07 TL Type S 4443 miles on the OD. Get it before it's gone and then you'll be kicking yourself in the butt. Good luck bro.
