07 TL Type S Manual trans overhaul
So I purchased a type s with a manual trans, and the 3rd gear was grinding and it feels just a worn out blocker ring(people called it synchro) in 3rd gear , since I couldn’t find any where to get the parts for that to rebuild trany , maybe I should ask you guys for help. ether same transmission on other honda or acura exactly the same and i can search off that or a source that can get just sets of blocker rings( I tried order from acura and they only selling a complete set of synchronizer)

Why bother rebuilding the transmission when ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified will most likely cure your issue?

We are saying it "might" resolve your issue and is worth a try before tearing apart your transmission. There is always the chance it won't....but overall, most of us have had good luck with the fluid swap.

I bought my 2006 6MT in 2017; at the time the car had ~114,000 on the clock and had a pretty severe third gear grind on many shifts, and on other shifts, the transmission wouldn't fully go into third gear, and if I didn't correctly sense the less than full engagement, the transmission would pop out of gear when I let out the clutch. Quite literally, the instant after I put 2.3 quarts of ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modifed in the transmission, both issues were solved. I have since driven the car nearly 50,000 miles and have not had a single third gear issue dating back to May of 2017.

My story is similar to many-many here on this forum...

No, Acura does not sell ACDelco products, they are a company tied to General Motors, in fact, the product used to be called General Motors Synchromesh Friction Modified.
You can by it from the likes of Amazon and Summit Racing (I've purchased from both).

Long story short, stop debating what to do and use ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified; you'll be glad you did.

The physical transmission in all 6MT 3rd gen TLs is exactly the same, that said, the bellhousing is a bit different because the 2004-2006 J32A3 and the 2007-2008 J35A8 have a different flange on the back of the block for mounting the transmission.

Some how the availability of the MT is rare because when AccordFlex blew the 3rd gear its took him a while to source another used trans.

TLs Manual rebuild, needs help
I have a 2007 TL type s 6speed manual and the 3rd 4th 5th gear are grinding, so I pick up a 04-06 manual TL transmission since i heard people say you can swap the bell housing to make it fit. now Im stuck on how to swap the bell housing and rebuild the old transmission from the type s. hit me up if you have any idea how to rebuild and rebuild kits for it

You've been posting about your transmission issues for a while now and we've been telling you to put ACDelco Synchromesh Friction Modified MTF in the transmission for just as long. As far as I can tell you never tried the new MTF; before you pull the tranny, try the ACDelco fluid.

So after I take the old tran out maybe I rebuild it and sell it , and the “new” tran see if it’s bad too and take the old rebuild tran in, I cannot think what can I do now

keep the old transmission for now just in case you need spare part.

Figured I'd add to the mix. I manual swapped a 2000 Odyssey with a 3.2S and 6MT from a 2003 CL-S. After getting it together, I found that fourth gear has the slightest grind when shifting from 3-4 or 5-4. It goes into gear, it doesn't pop out...ever. With that said, the GM synchromesh fluid didn't help at all. It made absolutely no difference. I've been driving it for three years now. I usually just skip 4th altogether.
I'm currently researching to rebuild it myself.

@johnboy1313, do you know for a fact your issue isn't the shift linkage and not the transmission?

No I don’t. When shifting to 4th, you can feel the teeth on the gear spinning through the shift knob. If you hold the clutch in and slowly shift to 4, it won’t grind at all. If you clutch and immediately shift slowly into 4th you can feel the gear slow down as it’s spinning. I don’t have any other issues with it. Is there a way to confirm that it’s not the linkage?
