I'm looking to rid myself of the Base TL brushed silver molding of both the front grille and rear license plate strip that goes right above the backup lights. I'm fully aware of the Chromium Grille part numbers but does anybody know what the heck the part number is for the black chrome strip they use for the type-s on the rear? I've looked all over and I simply cannot find where I would buy this or what a part number is for it. Someone please help a brotha out!!

Find the "grill" thread in the Photo Gallery (the big one - 40+ pages).

PM one of the primary offenders there. Pretty sure a few of those guys have changed and/or re-done that strip above the license plate.

Instead of ordering a new rear trim piece just take the trim off and have a body shop paint it body color.. I painted mine nbp

pellepelle - I know you are all set buddy but for those that stumble across this thread and don't see the answer........

The metal strip is not a separate part you can buy through an Acura dealer. It is part of the rear license plate trim piece - that costs about $200.00.

There is a seller on eBay (as of 8/16) selling the TLS trim separately and may still have a few left.

Some of us have even had the 06 piece chromed....

Hey psheu -

Thanks buddy I'm not a big time modder like most but I do try to do what I can.

In order to remove the trim you do have to remove the entire license plate housing. The trim is held on by 3 screws which can only be accessed from behind the panel.

It's easy - just be careful you don't end up doing what I did.....Crack kills...!!



Cost me about $190.00 to replace the broken plate housing...........


Someone did swap the mirrors just not sure who he was.......

Glad to see someone else did the same smart thing. Have you noticed most people don't notice that mod? I've got one more mod for the back of mine. Will post pics after it is done.

i got it for $16 shipped from this same guy a few months ago, keep in mind that this trim piece has no mounting point behind the middle of it because of the missing notch for the rear view camera. so like mine, it may stick out a little, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Fix that with either 3M tape or the modification Brettallica and Kennedy did by moving the mounting point.....

Does anyone know where to get this chrome trim piece anymore? The ebay sellers mentioned above aren't active anymore.

I want the chrome trim to match the chrome emblems on the trunk.
