HEY GUYS, I'M SO DISAPPOINTED...I JUST BOUGHT MY 07 TL TYPE S LAST WEEK AND I JUST GOT HOME FROM THE MALL AND SOME LADY IN HER SUV BACKED INTO THE FRONT OF MY CAR. iTS NOT TOO BAD HER TOWING HITCH MADE A HOLE IN MY BUMPER....I WANTED TO ASK YOU GUYS DO YOU KNOW IF I CAN GET A PREPAINTED BUMPER FROM THE FACTORY,ITS A BRAND NEW CAR AND I DONT WANT TO GET IT REPAINTED AND HAVE A CHANCE THAT THE COLOR WONT MATCH. iF YOU GUYS KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AND IF I CAN GO TO A DEALER AND SEE IF I CAN GET A PREPAINTED FRONT BUMPER PLEASE LET ME KNOW

Ouch, you can only obtain onw thaat comes unpainted legaly. You would need to go to a good body shop and get it painted.

 

only unpainted, why is that??...i got my body kit factory matched why cant i do the same with the front bumper. If i go somewhere else and get it painted its never going to be the same!!...but if i can somehow get it matched from the factory than i dont have anything to worry about.

 

My front bumper had to be replaced due to a manufacturer paint defect and I asked the same question. They only come unpainted, but the Acura body shop did a perfect job. I am ANAL about my car, and I can't tell any difference from factory. Not only that, but it's 8000 miles later, and there's not a single rock chip.

 

yea but if you ever go to trade your car than the dealer will know that it was repainted!...even though the car is brandnew i still dont want to ever hear that the car has been accidented. Its only 4 days old. why is it that the body kit comes prepainted but they cant just send a bumper prepainted!?!?

 

nope...they will have to repaint the bumper...and it will wise to be anal where you have to make sure the bumper paint match your car paint...The reason I said this is that when I had a bumper accident, that I had to reorder a new bumper and repaint and the 1st time it came out BLUE!!!! And my car is NBP where the base color is blue. So I had them repaint and make sure it look good with the rest of my car..just my 2 cent...

Seriously though that sucks!!!! I can only imagine how you must feel after only having it for less than a week.

If you take it to a good body shop they will be able to repair or replace your bumper and paint it to match with the rest of your car.

 

Which Acura body shop is that?

 

Sorry about your car. My TypeS came close to getting hit too. A big truck was trying to backup for a parking spot and he almost didn't see. I could not reverse because another car was right behind me. So I honk my horn like a crazy a$$ madman, and the truck finally stopped reversing and drove away.

 

I got cut off by none other than a FREAKING INFINITI. DUMD @$$ was too busy talking on his cellphone. I guess the P.O.S. doesn't come with bluetooth. Luckily I punched it as the raised center median ended and swerved into the left turn lane. If I would've gotten hit, my wife would have kicked his @$$ before I would have gotten to him.

 

Just get it fixed at a reputable body shop. My car had the bumper repainted after it ws hit (only 1 month old). The repainted bumper actually matches better than the factory bumper now!
