I had distorted glass in my new TL. The dealer replaced it. Still distorted. Replaced again. Replaced 5 times. All distorted. The dealer offered to exchange the car so I went to the lot and checked out all the TLs. All the windshields were distorted when the driver looks to the right. Objects "wave" as they pass by. I love my car, but it's like being married to a super model with a wart on her nose.

Has anyone else noticed this? I know I'm not imagining it.

Yeah, I have noticed it. The distortion is sort of right in front of the passenger, but you can't see it head on from the passenger seat. My '05 TL didn't have this distortion, but my '07 TL-S does. It is pretty annoying...

 

Every one I have looked at has it.

The windshield is large, and you are looking through the passenger side (from the driver's side) at quite an angle.

 

Your dealership was willing to replace the windshield FIVE TIMES??

 

Thanks for your replies. I'm glad it isn't just me. I guess I'll learn to live with it. I had a 99 TL and my wife has an 04 TSX and their windshields were perfect.

Yes, the dealer replaced the glass 5 times, offered to swap cars, and also offered to buy it back. Precision Acura in Princeton, NJ. Can't ask for more than that.

Seems to me that after the first few fimes, somebody would think to check the replacement piece before installing it.

I consider it one of the (very few) quirks of the car. I have forgotten about it already and have only had the car less than two months.

 

I am SHOCKED that your dealer didnt look up the service bullitin on this ( there is one i forget the number) the SB states there is no repair available
they replace 5 windshields for nothing..

 

Not just the dealer. All replacements were authorized by the Acura factory rep.
