07/8 TLS vs. Caddy SRX

I was in Va beach for a day and decided to get fancy and get a Caddy instead of the standard dodge charger or avenger. After a few games of pool with a couple buddies, i was headed back to the hotel room. Cruising at about 60 i encountered a sexy looking blue TLS with what looked like after market exhaust(sounded like it too). I was in the left lane and so was he, going kinda slow though. I got a litte closer and he moved over so i put the gas back down and got back to ~60. It was at that point i hear a down shift and he nails it. So, i decided to see what the Caddy had and well, it was a 60ish to ~85/90. I hope he liked the way that phat Caddy ass looked. I was impressed with the SRX, and a little dissapointed in the TLS, hopefully he just sucked at driving it.

Hard to believe a modded TL-S would lose to a dirtbag SRX.

while the engine output is basically the same as the TL, the caddy weighs about 500lbs more.

basically who ever got the jump

Seriously, there are plenty of stories on here how the TL, TL-S pulled on other modded cars (G35, MS3, 335i even, etc.) and yet this fat Caddy with aerodynamic of a brick pulled on a TL-S with visual mod.

*alright, flame suite on*

It could happen from a roll with a 2012 SRX even though the Caddy is heavier it has an advantage in available torque 265@2400 to 254@5000 & horsepower 308@6800 to 286@6200. Also being a trash hauler it most likely has better gearing for a quick lunge & they never really got up to speed.

From a standing start the TLS would have a big advantage because of inertia with the Caddy having to launch a lot more weight.

An older SRX the TL should win both roll & dig.

I have a 2006 SRX with the N* V8 and I know it wouldn't take a TLs. It has power for its size but it wont pull on my 05 TL. roll, dig, etc.

I dont know about the newer gen SRX's as much (guessing it was '10/'12 model since op didnt list year of caddy) but i dont see where they would be quicker than the TL.

They do have awesome takoff like bear said above. The SRX is still a nice ride and "it rides like a cadillac" LoL.
