07-08 TL-S tranny in a 04-06 TL
Hey guys, has anyone tried installing a TL-S tranny into a 04-06 regular TL?
We know that the latter trannies have higher torque capacity and are better made. It would be a nice trick to pull if it is doable.

07-08 TL-S OEM pre-cats into an 04-06 TL
Has anyone tried installing the 07-08 TL-S OEM pre-cats into a 04-06 TL. I read in the Acura bulletin that the pre-cats that come in the TL-S' have 600 cells rather than the 900 cells the stock TLs have which helps flow and power. The part numbers are different, of course, but not sure if the fit is.
Please advise.

The TL-S has the 3.5L motor. All other TL's of this generation have the 3.2L motor. That said, you won't be able to simpy bolt-on a transmission from a car with a different motor.
Also, why bother? The 04-06 6MT TL's also had close ratio 6 speed manuals, I'm not sure what you would be expecting to gain by doing that.
As far as the exhaust, I think the cost of purchasing two OEM pre-cats from a TL-S and putting them on your TL would cost more money than you would gain in power. You could probably do an ATLP exhaust or similar for about the same cost.
