'07/'08 tl

So after I was settled on looking for a rwd 07 G35, I decided to go for a TL mainly due to reliability and maintenance - so is that a fact that 07/08 had different transmission or is this pure speculation

Thanks

07/08 have different tranny...I have an 08 with 60K and haven't had any issues. Just follow the recommended cycle for changing the fluid and you'll be fine.

Nice! I have an 08 CBP base. Just hit 94k the other day. I get the trans fluid changed every 30k at the dealer and it has been trouble free.

The switches still need changing in the 07-08s. They slowly damage the transmission if not changed soon enough. My latest till 85k before mine started acting up.

Yes 07-08 running the modified version of RL AT which should improve than earlier model.

08 is clutch and the base model doesn't have RL transmission, Type S have RL trans because it has a 3.5 liter block as well

I have an 07 base and before I bought it I researched every bloody thing about the car, and ALL 07/08 models have a RL type tranny.

I guess it was the solution to the terrible tranny of previous years.

Lol.... yea my goal is make sure everyone is misinformed and led down the wrong path -.-

I must be tripping out, cause I am pretty sure the type S trans is a lot bigger in size visually, is the type S one bigger for some reason?

^^^the only difference in AT between 07-08 Type S and 07-08 Base TL is that Type S has ATF cooler mounting on driver side in front of A/C condenser, Base TL doesn't have ATF cooler (unless you bought one and install it). Other than that it using the same AT.

Damn sucks for me, the only reason I didn't want the base TL is because of trans problems and I figured that this one would actually be the best since I thought it is different, a little bit more sporty and upgraded like the motor; which means it can handle real driving without getting fucked up.

But fuck it, I got a superior deal, and always maintain the car myself. No problems what so ever =)
