Upgrading my 04 Mirrors to 07 / 08. They will require repainting....few questions.

- I have removed the mirror covers (front and back). Is there a way to remove the piece that that bolts to the door for painting? what have others done?
- How do I remove the harness for the mirror motor assembly? It looks like a plug (red green Brown blue wire) but cant seem to figure out how to remove it, and dont want to break it.
