06 TL vs 07-08 TL - major differences??
i know the steering wheel, front/rear bumper covers, wheels, and gauges were slightly restyled... but are there any MAJOR differences?
prices are a LOT lower on 06s than they are on 07s.. and wonderd what I would be giving up if I went iwth an 06 w/nav vs an 07/08 w/nav?

auxiliary input in the center console, cd player can play mp3 cd's, grill is a little different (i think, may be just the type-s), taillights are different. there is a big list someone compliled that compared all of the differences.
the biggest advantage i can see for buying an 07/08 is you'll prob have longer time left of the warranty if it is a lower mileage one.

There is a list floating around but there are a LOT of differences.
Some have been mentioned already but here goes starting at the front of the car...
-Revised front bumper with fog lights
-New headlights
-Updated wheels
-Revised rear bumper
-New taillights
-Backup camera (on nav equipped cars obviously)
-New "switchblade" key
-New steering wheels
-New gauges
-Different interior trimming
-Updated nav software with aux in and MP3 capabilities
There are more differences than a lot of people think. When I was looking for a TL I only considered 07 and 08 models. It also seems that a lot of the teething problems that the earlier models had such as rattles and stuff have been worked out.
Hope this helps.

Don't forget the mirrors with blinkers
Performance wise, the 07-08 base models have a slightly softer suspension than the 04-06's and I hear they 'roll' a little more in curves. I'm also not a big fan of the newer style wheels over my stock wheel style.
This is a biased 06 owner writing that hasn't missed any of the new features to date. I think I would want the updated Nav and maybe the fog lights the most.

I have the 06 and I'm telling you get the 07-08 version if the price is right. But don't kill yourself over it. Differences aren't night and day.. but enough to make it worth while to get. One thing I do like on my 06 version is that the handling and steering response is alot tighter and sturdier then the 07-08 versions. I think they changed it up because they brought out the TYPE S and so decided to give the base TL a little floatier feeling.
The gauges and front end are a very nice touch and the Nav has a few more nice bells and whistles. I think its worth it.
