About the same mileage on both cars, $5k out of pocket to get into an RL.

well seems like the handling reviews are pretty good with the awd, how would that compare to my tl with comptech rear sway bar. speed is prob a small difference, more interested in handling. from reviews, sounds more luxurious, not sure bout boatiness.

I haven't driven the RL, but if you scroll into the RL section's you'll see a lot of them talking about how the TL doesn't compare to the RL in handling.. luxury.. etc.
I also noticed the RL was a true dual exhaust, unlike the single pipe for the TL. 5k more.. hmm I say do it! A sway bar is no way EQUAL to SH-AWD. In fact rsb have a tendency to crack the endlinks of your car, like it did mine.... I never thought it would happen to me, but it did.

After driving and owning both, it is certainly a different experience.
Post up what you love and hate about your TL so we can get a better idea of what you are looking for.
I highly doubt you will regret it.

Three Wheelin'
my boy has an 05, the Meteorite Silver with chrome A-SPECS and the car is really....stunning. So about 2 weeks ago I headed up to VA to hang out with my brother, and several of us were going to Richmond. Now I have driven his RL countless times, but this time we took it on the 3 hour road trip- and everything about it was smooth. The interior/nav/everthing to the sick headrest are way above the 3G. I was so impressed with the NAV, and how much different it is than mine. Anyway man, I would do it, and as far as performance, sure.....there is a difference, although the SH-AWD is great, and its really cool that the MID reflects when you are using it. After all- the RL is not racer/tuner/ lets see how much hp I can get out of this thing....its "I'm an RL, the #$#%@ FLAGSHIP " good luck

I wouldn't do it because of the $5k.. if it was an even trade I might consider. Don't pay $5k OOP to get into an RL.. Sell the TL, then buy the RL.. you should end up pretty even, maybe get a a little more back if you're patient.

if you bought the tl new i would say stick with the tl, because buying a used car is a little risky ... if ur set on getting the rl, then like others said try to have to pay a lot less than 5k to get it

I think I will start my search and trade if I find a good color. You really think $5k is too much for an even swap with same mileage and Acura certified? I think it is fair considering the new price diff was about $15k correct?

If you don't have a manual TL, I'd say go for it. The RL is much quieter and much less of a "sports" luxury compared to the TL.
I have an 08 TSX, somtimes I wish I would have looked at a used 06 RL. With all of the tech features, excellent sound system, quality interior, they seem like great cars. I also don't know how much "slower" they are than the base TL, it can't be much. You might also loose a couple MPG in fuel economy.
If you've got the money, I'd say do it!

The RL is a great car to have if you don't like nor care much for 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times. Fit and finish on the RL is much nicer (except for the door-handles).

They're supposed to be a nice drive. Definitely worth looking in to. But realize, you're moving into a different class of car. The TL is a sports sedan and the RL is a luxury sedan. Are you ready to do that?

1. Look at the steering wheel, if equpped with CMBS it will have two extra buttons on the lower right of the wheel.
2. Look at the A symbol on the front of the car, CMBS cars will have the glossy sensor infront of the A.
3. Look at the tire size.
