Dropped off my 04TL for service today and they gave me 06 TL for loaner..deffinitely much better build than 04. No vibrate..no shake..no rattles of any kind...firmer steering feel (probably newer rubber - 400 miles) ride so much better...dang...TPM is very nice too

No surprise to me pal. My 05 been in 4 times already for the same issues. Going to lemon law the 05 and either give the 06 a chance or leave Acura.

I'll Take My Squeaks Back Please

I just traded my 04 for a 06 and it has no squeaks, creaks or rattles like the 04 had, however, it does vibrate. Given the choice I'd rather have the squeaks!!!

chances are in a brand new car there will be few if no rattles etc... of course it will feel much better... the car doesn't even have 1000 miles on it yet.

you guys are comparing 1 car to 1 car. not 04/05 to 06 just remember. sample space is way to small to draw any conclusions. i am not dismissing anything.

for example, my 04 has no rattles/problems (other than the butt print issue), should i conclude that all "04s" are better/built more solid than everything else out there? i am sure you'd understand this. you want to compare "your" car to the "loaner" that's fine. do not mislead people into thinking "all" vs "all" is good or bad.

Agreed, I have a 2005 and although it has less than 2k miles I haven't had any problems yet, and I'm sure that you could find some 2006 owners who have rattle and other problems

I am suprised to hear that 06 still has the infamous vibration. We should ask all 05 and 06 members who have this issue to sign up for a petition, so that Acura can do sth about it rather than claming " it has been fixed" when it is obviously not.

Rattles develop over time. I have 7000 miles on 05 and it start to develop a very annoying rattle in the dashboard. I know it is a can of worms if you want the dealer to try to fix it.

Starts at 30 gets stronger at 50, peaks at 55-60 and is felt through the floor. It's a higher frequency than tire rotation, has a cadence, does not matter which gear and does it with the stock Michelin tires and my winter tires and rims that didn't vibrate on my 04.

Hmm. I have an 2004 with 32kish miles - Ive got no vibration. A small rattle, but to be honest, it doesn't really bother me. Then again, I am always listening to loud music...

the 06 loaner shift much smoother than my 04

also i have this rough vibrate/shake idle when cold start in the morning it is so bad that i have never seen a car shake that bad in the morning. Not only that i can feel it i can hear it as well...the tachometer kinda jump up and down 100 rpm...Also notice the 06 sun glasses holder in the door fit real tight and have some kind of soft rubber around it..no rattle there...

I actually gave in my 05 tl for service and they gave me an 05 tsx loaner. I mean compared to the TL its a pos, but its not the worst. I like the exterior looks with the chrome accents but since its only a 4cyl its pretty weak but fun to drive. I basically abused it for a bit but its all good !!

If this is the same thing I feel in my 04, I think the vibrations are from mild engine chugging as a result of the AT quickly up shifting to a high gear if you have been driving in grandma mode (easy going). You'd feel the same if you drove an MT and shifted to 4th or 5th at 30mph, then tried to maintain speed or even accelerate. It is simply too high a gear for that engine speed. This quick up shifting is probably done to save fuel. If you are one who regularly drives hard and your AT shift schedule is in sports mode, you generally will not experience this.

Actually, it does it in any gear including neutral, so I believe it's associated with the rotating parts of the driveline not associated with gear selection.

that sucks. i thought u hand picked this one. dealer tech outta be able to feel it too. give u a new driveshaft or two. i feel for u man. let us know what the dealer say.

my dealer is great. butt print i told them is an eye sore then came a new one. i told them texture is different then they ordered my passanger seat too. it's our sponsor i give u a hint. however i notice they (acura) don't cover leather issues (they were kinda vague on that) anymore unless it's a factory defact on the 06 RL my friend just purchased last saturday. i guess they meant wrinkles and stuff. they mentioned that specifically during delivery. sorry lil off topic. just trying to say dealers make all the differences.

anyhoo let us know how it goes with ur dealer.

This is the exact vibration i have on my 06!!! Its more of a shake than vibration like somthing knocking or pounding on the engine. Happens when the car hasnt been started for a day and doesnt have to be on a cold day. Did you bring it to the dealer about it because i'm planning to.

I belong to a couple of forums and I will say that amoung this brand, rattles and vibrations are a common thread. So a 1 car to 1 car comparison is not as limited as you say. If someone gets the same issues from 04 05 06 then there is something wrong or improvement needs in the build process.

The other forum I also see common issues that I myself have experienced with let's call brand X. My car does not experience the issues that some people have experienced, but I am watching out for them. But at 17,000 miles I imagine that I am out of the woods on some initial build issues with the other brand I am driving.

I have had two TSX loaners , one 04, one 05, both had decent acceleration, much better handling then my TL (stock). POS not! Agreed, interior is lacking, but if you abused it, you have to agree handling is so much better!
(or is that what you meant by "fun to drive"?). If so you should put the word MORE in front of your statement.

Rattle and Hum

I've had my 05 TL in the dealership 3 times for rattles in the dash. The first time was something behind the Navi system, the second time was something loose with the airbag (they had to replace the airbag) the 3rd time was something behind the instrument panel. My dealer has been great about fixing each rattle and now we have none. (18K miles) However there's been a few times I thought I had a new rattle, but it was something in one of the console compartments or in the cup holder. The suspension is tight enough on the TL that you need to secure all loose items or they will rattle...and/or fly around the cockpit in zero gravity. :

I have an 06 TL and it has rattles just for the record...one on the passenger door (just starting hearing this) and driver door, one somewhere in the instrument panel, the "subwoofer on max" rear deck rattle and a squeak from the glove compartment. Pohanka Acura fixed two...the glove compartment and driver side door.

What was causing the rattle behind the instrument panel? I think I have this exact same problem.

I have no vibrations or rattles on my 06 with 3800 miles. It's a NAVI so it has the Michelins. I had one rattle but it was that darn sunglass holders in the doors. I removed those and its quiet now.

It appears that most TLs have rattles. I have an 06 with navi (200 miles so far) and no rattles. My 03 Maxima GLE (made in Japan) has 18k miles and has no rattles in the past 3.5 years. I think Japanese QC is better than US. Not that I am not patriotic, I am just stating the truth!
