Im pretty sure the dsg gti's are faster than the manual ones but without I/E/Tune he should have no shot.

I think the GTI will definitely give you a run, even stock. You have to remember the TL 5AT in stock form is a 14.9-15.2 car. If you go from a dig, he should edge you out at first. You may catch him. If you do I wouldn't think until at least the top of 2nd or bottom of 3rd gear. Even then they are still in their powerband and have shorter gears. He may actually get you.

If he has even the slightest I/E mods, he should stay ahead of you and pull. Those DSG transmissions are no joke; some of the best.

Let us know the results! And good luck!

Maybe. I still think I would of pulled harder if I hadn't brake torqued. I was experimenting with my launch after the race and I noticed that I come off the line a lot stronger/faster when I don't brake torque. Oh well, you live and learn right. haha.

Hmm. It's seems you guys are 50/50 about me vs the GTI. I can't wait to see what happens. I'm gonna' strip my trunk and all that stuff again next week before we run. .

Well, we plan on running from a dig and a roll. I'll definitely get back to you guys with the results and hopefully some footage too!

So here's what may happen next week. I invited the RSX back out again and I'm waiting on a response from him.

- 2002 mustang GT Auto: modded. I'll list what he has when I find out.

- 2008 VW GTI DSG: stock. according to the owner.

- RSX type-s: I/E. MAYBE.

I think I'll probably lose to both the Mustang and the GTI. From both a dig and a roll. .

Wait, the Type S you had I/E??? He needs a driver mod. I thought he was stock when you ran him and that's why you barely edged him out [though with the right driver it should've went the other way (no homo)].

Yeah dude. We just barely edited the youtube caption. Plus, I had the mods listed in my first post. haha.

Anyways, I'm trying to think of other little things I can take out of my car... Inaccurate, if you see this, God damn you...
lol

*EDIT: So, you're basically saying I could walk away from a stock Type-S?

Well, it all depends on the driver. The Type S could be driven to a 14.5-6 in stock form. Yet that's with a great driver. Most do not. On the street anything can happen, so yes driver dependent, you should be able to pull on a stock Type S.

Sounds like it will be fun. The mustang should get you. I beat a stock 2002 Mustang GT auto but it doesn't take many mods for them to scream. The GTI can be a mid 14 second car with traps in the mid 90's stock. From a roll you should have a great battle. IMO I think he will beat you from a dig. With the current driver in the RSX it seems like you should have the advantage. I have seen mid 14's with traps in the 97+ range with a 05+RSX-S with I/E with a good driver. Good luck!!

For every 100 lbs you take off you lose a tenth in the quarter. For every 10 hp you gain you also lose a tenth in the quarter.

Im still cracking the hell up that "taking out the floor mats" made your car feel different and that its a "weight reduction mod."
Good luck on the racing and be careful out there.
