06 DWP 6MT Ebony int w/Navi TL

I just joined the forums today and i cant wait for my car to be built! I put my deposit in today as well! Only bad thing is that i have to wait 6 WEEKS!!! The dealership (thanks acura of seattle and Doug the sales manager) said that there wasnt a brand new one available on the entire westcoast, and there is only one that is being built around labor day! So, i should be getting mine around mid June! I cant wait to officially join the club! This forums Rules!

I'm sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but you have a lot longer than 6 weeks to wait. Try making that 16.5 weeks. Labor Day is the first Monday in September.

I think he probably meant "Memorial Day". If, indeed, it was Labor Day, he might as well get an '07 model as they will be out about then.

Yeah, a delivery around Memorial Day is most definitely worth the wait. Actually, so would a Labor Day delivery be Ok. Just think what you are getting. I love my TL. I have two of them. Mine is an '04 Anthracite/Ebony/6MT/Nav and my wife's is an '05 Satin Silver/Quartz/5AT/Nav. I get to drive either one and frankly, my overwhelming choice is my own 6MT. There IS a difference between the two.. believe me. You made the right choice.

We just returned Sunday from a 1400 mile road trip in her TL and on Monday, I took my '04 manual TL out for some errands. BIG, as in BIG, difference. Her's is nice, make no mistake. But the 6MT makes a HUGE difference. You're going to love it and the wait is worth it.

Yeah......i think thats why its going to take a while for them to get a MT in. Dealership said that they go through way more AT because of the age demographic sales......they said avg. age was 35 or so. Im pretty young (26) so i would like to have fun with my car. Also my first new car was a 2000 Civic SI and i loved that car to death because of the fact the engine was nice and stick made it much more enjoyable......then it got stolen! Never found it and just took the money from insurance and used that for a down payment on a house. Now its time to have fun and get back into a new car.

If you are a true gearhead, age has nothing to do with the purist in you.. the love of taking a find machine down the road and feeling the engine work through a manual tranny. Something I'll never grow old or tired of as long as I have legs that work. I've been driving manual transmissions for over 40 years (God, did I just give a hint of my age??). And I still love cars and guns and boats and Rock 'n Roll.

Hell, look at Warren Johnson or Larry Morgan. Two of Pro Stock's finest and both are over 60 (at least I know Johnson is). Try to cut a light on either of them and you'll wind up eating their dust.

Sucks about having your car stolen. Too bad you weren't able to kill the maggot(s).
