06 Acura tl vs 08 Honda civic si

I have the TL, my brother in law has the Civ-si. he's been driving for 6 years. hes pretty good, but I always spank his a$$ with my tl. the mods to my tl is the injen intake and the tanabe medalion exhaust ( $1200 well worth it), but I mean these mods probably only add at the most 20 HP. He thinks there is something wrong with his civ, I just think the si is not all that powerful. Can anyone validate on this? has any one ever got there ass handed to them by an SI??? I'm not trying to bash on the si, it is a beautiful car (although alien looking), but is it worth it?

what mods can further increase the power of the standerd tl, I know turbo kit would do nicely.

Even though I do think the Civic is a nice all around car. How does he expect it to compare with a higher end sport/luxury car? Hopefully he doesnt think just because it says "SI" on it that its faster than everything out there. Doesnt matter what model Civic it is they are not fast cars. Neither are the TL's for that matter. Again, just good looking and decent performing cars.

As far as mods everything you do without completely rebuilding the motor and trans is just gonna be very minimal HP. Just like adding the intake and exhaust is more of a cosmetic and sound modification more than HP adders. On a little V6 intake and exhaust will add very little if any power to the wheels.

I think this might be in the wrong forum.

In any case, I doubt the Si could hang (for very long) with the TL.

Intake and Exhaust can add up to 20WHP so that's not to little paired up with a J-Pipe, we're talking about up to 30WHP gained. This has been dyno proven. Pre-Cat Deletes, 3rd Pipe will gain another 20 WHP (may be wrong on this number).

SI will lose unless its turboed or with a rebuilt motor. TL will be a fast car if you can cough up the money. Comptech Supercharger with forged pistons, water/meth injection (Opel's 375WHP setup) or Pass's Turbo 9.2 PSI setup on stock bottom end that is 437WHP. So definitely our cars will be AMAZINGLY fast. Just like I hate car's signature,

"Just a V6" We're talking about over 500HP at the crank at only 9PSI. Now if we wanted to go past the limits and change some internals we can easily boos that up to 12 or 15 PSI, and sustain over 600CHP, only problem we will have at the end of the day is the tranny and the FWD. Now once again if you had money, you could rebuild the tranny or buy a performance tranny and be the fastest FWD in the country! Or do a FWD-RWD conversion which is basically money consuming and pretty hard.

I have own both cars. 07 Si Intake, header, exhaust and now a 04 Tl 6 speed stock. Stock vs stock, the Tl is faster. My Si was faster with the mods it used to have than my stock Tl, but I know that with a couple mods the Tl will be faster than the Si. Still the Si is very quick for a 2.0L because it's not as light as civic's used to be. The Tl on the other hand really surprised me how quick it is.
