05 TL Negotiations: Request to Moderators

Dear Moderators,

I've been enjoying this site for a few weeks now, as I prepare to buy my 2005 TL. Thanks! You're doing a great job!

I'd like to request that all messages or threads having to do with negotiations and pricing on the 05 TL's be moved into a new sticky (I think that's what you call it - I'm a bit new to this world of posting). That way we'll really have a concentrated, powerful tool at our disposal for negotiations.

Keep up the great work!

Luke

I'm fairly certain they have been considering this. There must be some reason it hasn't happened yet.

Thanks for your supports and advice.

I'm not sure if I do understand your question, but, for my points of view, I'd like to just list a guideline or tell you how to use SEARCH instead of put them into "sticky". There is a thread of "Advice of dealers/deals", http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94221 which may be helpful. I also list it into the GARAGE. Or this http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72321

If you pay attention, there are about 10 "price quote" of 04/05 in first page.
  1. we cannot "sticky" all of them

  2. everyone has their own specific questions

  3. merging threads won't help the situation, either

  4. Even I make them sticky, other ppl or newbies will continue to post their own questions as new threads

  5. the deals and price are always varied and changed, time by time, and area by area

  6. if there is a sticky like this out there, you might see pages of replies there. But, will ppl or newbiew really read them all? Or just post another Q: "how much should I pay?"

  7. if there is a sticky thread like this, and we merge all all 05TL/04TL price threads together, can we just delete any new threads and prohibit members from posting the new threads?

  8. if #7 is agreeable, we will merge all 05TL & 04TL price threads right away, and the policy would be clear and simple that no one could create NEW deals/price threads in 3G forums any more. They have to put their questions, information, or whatever they like to say into that long and verbose sticky thread.

  9. Check out sticky threads in other forums, please. How many of them would make you check them again and read them all from the beginning to the end? 5 pages long or 10 pages long. If we cannot update the sticky threads and make them informative and easy to understand, there is no need to have them sticky on the top. We have no problems to stick a thread, but it's hard and almost impossible to make this kind of thread meaningful or helpful to those who like to buy their 04TL/05TL soon

  10. For example, http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94563 , if MODs are not making update into the first POST, members won't know what's the newest changes unless they read carefully through all posts. This is MODs' job. If MODs cannot do this kind of update, this sticky thread is useless

  11. As I say above, the price/deal threads are continuingly updated and changed by areas and time, MODs just cannot update all info for members and most of members just don't like to read them all but simply post their threads "is my deal the good one?"

Thanks I'll try it

Thanks Rets, you seem to be da man around here. I just bookmarked the first thread you cited, and I'm about to look at the second. If I have further comments I'll come back. I understand your points entirely; I was just thinking that a place for 05 quotes and dealerships ONLY would save a lot of time.

Thanks for your understanding.
  • Ppl have suggested to have a thread/forum to discuss nationalwide dealership. Usually members of this forum could talk whatever they like about their cars and dealers, but we cannot specifically "stick" them and emphasis those comments. We won't actively and subjectively help those ppl (maybe a few or doznes) ruin any particular dealers' reputation.

  • Check out the sticky thread "3G TL Garage", you may find something interesting out there.

Best of luck to you.
