There is a big disparity between the two. Looking for more opinions on the price. I think I should get at least 9000 to 9500 even with the maintenance issues. Does this sound way off?

i dont see the problem here.

big discrepancy you say?
sell it for the highest amount the websites say.

then if you cant get any buyers, assess ad, re-structure ad(includes a price drop if needed) and re-post car ad.

im not in the market for a TL and couldnt tell you if 9500 is a good deal or not...

2ndly, there is a thread that was started not to long ago, ASKING the same question you are.
asking how to price a car.

Go to autotrader or cars.com and look at the market. This will tell you exactly what your car's worth. If you want my opinion, I'd pay $7k max for this 10 year old car w/100k miles.

That would be pretty hard to find though...When I was looking in the last few months I couldn't find any MT for under 10k let alone with under 100k miles. Even the closest MT was over 200 miles away and I'm not in a bad area, they are definitely few and far between.

Yes they are! That's one of the reasons I'm holding on to mine for dear life. Even more rarer with the Nav.

I got an 06 6MT with navi last Feb, one owner, new tires, new front break pads and rotors with 96k no 105k maintenance and every receipt for everything that had ever been done to the car for 11,750. I was pleased with that.

Thanks ctua6 and dmz. That is why I posted. It isn't as cut and dry as blue book since there is demand. I have an offer of 8750 but I think I should hold out for at least 9500.

Yeah, when I bought mine feb. this year, I payed 11.5 for mine with 93k on it and felt like I paid a fair price, considering the MT and navi. Took it to the local specialist and he agreed on the solid purchase price.

From: is everything.
Recently traded in my 04 6MT w/o nav and 122k miles. 6k from the dealer due to 2 accidents on it. Would have been a 7k trade otherwise.

you do know that you just posted your car in the black market for more than what you want, right?

any smart person reading these two threads, will know that you only want 9500 for it.
and WILL dismiss your $11k price for it RIGHT AWAY.

I guess that will get you to your goal of $9500.

you want that? fix your axles for $300 if you do it yourself. I would not buy a Honda/Acura with beat front axles as that means someone was throttle happy...

Honda OEM axles are damn near indestructible on stock motor output unless the car was beat.... I live in a state with roads that are horrid and I am at the mileage stated and my axles are STILL good.

All the feedback was great. I should have come here a long time ago.

From the conversations I have had this week and what people are actually buying/selling these for I think it is definitely worth what I have been asking (11K) but I would be willing to negotiate since there is some variability in what people have paid and what the car needs.

I felt like I was being low balled a bit and I think I was right.

I disagree. It's far too common for the TL axles to crap out with relaxed driving habits. And fwiw I just picked up the GSP axles for just a hair over $100 shipped from advance auto. They will be going in this weekend.

Chuck, those GSP axles are a good buy. I have them on the MDX and they're still silky smooth. About 70k miles on them.. plus if they do go.. they're LLT, new ones for nil.

I'm very glad to hear that. I was a little concerned about the lifetime warranty with no stores local I would have to ship them back and im sure shipping would be killer on something this size/weight. Hopefully I have no issues. I drive this car like a grandma anyways ha.

Did you grease the ring on the end before sliding it into the trann?

I'll be replacing the axle seal on the TL soon. I intend on applying a little grease / atf on the ring. The key is to adjust it around so it slides in smoothly. If it jams up, just rotate the head a 1/4 turn or so until it seats flush. Make sure you drain the ATF first before pulling the driveshafts.
