05 A-Spec Body Kit (Splash Guards) Question

Hey guys,
I am thinking about getting the full A-Spec kit, and my base TL already has the splash guards on ( they are a must here in IL), is it possible to use these or will I have to buy a different pair?
I have been searching the photo threads but can't find a specific answer.

Thanks, much appreciated!

I have a 08 Type S and the splash guards don't work. But the A spec is pretty wide and you should be OK. You could cut the ones you have but its going to be tough to get a perfect fit.

Not sure but I think you have to take them off in order to put the aspec kit on

Here's what is says in the instructions manual from handa-accessories.com

"Splash guards cannot be installed on a vehicle
equipped with under spoilers."

Are there any other splash guards I could get, or does anyone who has A-Spec in a snowy, rainy area like Chicago vouch for yay or nay if they are necessary?

Thanks!

Hey Morphguy, I installed my A-spec kit myself and you are right...the splash guards had to come off. But the car does look much cleaner without them. As a resident of a suburb of Chicago, I do miss them in that the bottom of my doors often get splashed with rain, snow, etc. But these are all easily cleaned. If you live in a really muddy and/or rocky area, I would definitely recommend modding some splash guards to protect your doors and the rear bumper. But otherwise, they aren't that necessary.

See my post in TL- Photography under Custom A-Spec Splash Guards. I just completed this mod with many pic's of how I custom cut and molded the standard Type S splash guards to fit my Apsec kit. It took allot of time, but I need them for all the same reasons that you do.
