Dont think Acura is going to be adding any more horsepower without adding SH-AWD to the TL.

Honda better work on making some more torque for the TL rather just increasing 8hp. Besides, the 2005 G35C will have 295hp so, Nissan could just decide to put that motor in the G35S as well. (read: re-rate HP to 295hp)
But, I understand that in development, the TL's J32 had well over 300hp. That could be a way to go but, I'm guessing that Honda doesnt want the TL's HP rated higher than the NSX's. If true, maybe Nissan should throw down the gauntlet and give the sedan the 295hp VQ35DE; this may really force Honda's hand.
Peace.

Or Nissan could always drop the VQ40DE into it that now comes in the Xterra and Pathfinders.

Xterra = VQ40DE (250hp/270lb-ft) = Off Road duties

Assuming there is structure behind the seatback, removing the structure to allow a pass through while maintaining structural stiffness is a pretty significant enhancement.

Yes, most companies are in this silly horsepower war, neglecting ergonomics, quality, reliability etc and well, people seem to be attracted to
1. 0-60 in blah blah blah and
2. My car has 900 horsepower blah blah blah.
Can't fault the car companies at all.
On the other hand, technology is constantly improving so HP levels will increase naturally. And with FI becoming more available, the limits are nearly endless once you have the cash.
I can see the TL maybe bumping horsepower after it's 2nd year in production.
The VQ is just a sensational powerplant with so many abundant uses and a stock exhaust note to die for in the 350Z and G35c. It's not a FI engine though.
The TL already is quick, I doesn't need more power at all.
