'05 Acura TL priorities?

Just purchased myself an 05 TL with 58,000 miles for about $10k and I absolutely love it. Drives perfect and is in great condition. Unfortunately, while I was parked at work (Nissan dealership), my car was hit by a tractor trailer making a pick up which really did a beating. Just my luck The trucking co is going to cut me a check for the repairs but my real question is what are the most important adjustments to be made? I am going to black out the windows but my real interest is in the headlights/ taillights as well as new rims. I have seen posts with smoked out taillights but am no mechanic to do the work myself. Are new lights worth it? As well as the wheels? The rims will most likely be the last thing I do because of cost but would love to hear what some of you think. I am so excited to finally have the car but it kills me to see some of these sweeeet TL's people have come up with over the years. Post pics, give some advice, or even some great places to have work done in NJ!! Thanks in advance guys!

Whether a mod is "worth it" is completely subjective. What you find as an important, others may not find needing modding, such as tail lights (for me anyway).

If they're cutting you a check for the damage they caused, get those fixed and see where your finances are at after that. And before any aesthetic mods, I would make sure your car is running in its best mechanical shape as possible. You wouldn't want to spend hundreds on unnecessary mods and maybe have your timing belt fail on you which costs thousands to repair the engine afterwards.

"Most important adjustments to be made"??
Not sure what you're asking...
But PM Acktl05 for modding heads/tails. He also sells OEM Acura parts and installs pretty much anything too.
Best part is, he's in Jersey

Good luck.

modding is pretty personal.

What I would find awesome you would hate and vice versa.
browse through acurazine there has been at least 10 years worth of ideas floating around.

Go take your car to a Acura dealership and make sure the car gets fixed 100% like new, and if the bill costs more than what you got paid, the company has to pay the additional fees. Don't worry about modding your car until its fixed cosmetically. Please do not "smoke" your taillights (like with paint) its so tacky and is illegal and will get you a ticket. If you want to get some custom lights, the real way look into this guy:

for wheels an other mods... go to acurazine meets and check out the cars, go to the photograph gallery and look at peoples progress threads to get ideas

NBP is right on. I think first and foremost you should make sure your car is repaired correctly and then worry about modding.

And like what was said about, modding is subjective. Do what you think will get you the most enjoyment from the car.

Good luck.
