'05 to '07 Steering wheel conversion?

I have found an 07 steering wheel for sale and I love it. But, I need to know if it will fit on my 05. And how much work it would be to do the conversion. And how much it would cost for the conversion.

oh no problem on fitting.....but good luck splicing cables to make the switches work. i dont remember the harness' looking the same as the 05's....if u can get the harness and buttons then u can splice plug n play......otherwise it'll be hard.

There are also buttons for the MID on the steering wheel of the '07 that aren't there on the '05 (they are on the dash). It would be a big job.

For whatever it is worth, I like the looks of my '07 steering wheel, but functionally it is still hard to get used to. I found it comfortable while cruising to rest my left hand in the 6 o'clock position on the wheel with my '05 TL. With the 3 spoke wheel on my TL-S, you either have to go with 5 or 7 o'clock...not as natural or comfortable.

No Problem. hopefully when I am able to walk without these crutches(hip surgery) I'll be able to make my way over to check it out. Seeing that you are so good with the TL maybe if at all possible you could show me or help me with my new rear TL-S Lights just got them in the day of surgery sux huh. Been waitin on them for like two weeks.

Offtopic...
Sure thing. I can drink beer while you work. I good at wrenching... Even better at drinking and supervising.

I've priced the parts... You need a new airbag , and awhole mess of other things to install a new wheel... Over $1K in parts new... You'd have to do some trivial custom wiring too...

Unless you can score a wheel and an airbag for a few bills off ebay, no way I'd consider it.

Funny he said 6 o'clock because I am just the opposite. My left arm relaxes to my left, not straight down.. So if I grab my 05 wheel at 6 o'clock it pulls the wheel to the right if I try to relax my arm. And if I have to hold it at 6 o'clock, my arm gets tired having to hold it centered without pulling on it.. If I could grab it at 7 or 8 o'clock my arm has a tendoncy to relax and pull that direction. And that would be better. That's why I think the 07-08 steering wheels are better.
