05-06 MT vs. 07-08

So I have been looking for a 05-06 6-speed for a while but haven't been able to find a right color combination yet. But since this car might be something I will own for the next 4-5 years, I thought about spending a little more for the newer (07-08) model. I noticed that the Type-S 6-speed models still go for at least $30K! Do these have that much premium? I have seen used 09's that are cheaper than that. I know I am comparing the base model vs. the older loaded model, but I can't justify spending that much on a Type-S which is still based on the old 04 model year platform.

Oh, and I really like the anthracite color but was that not available for the Type S?

I think you've got great taste! $30K seems steep for what's essentially a two year old car now, unless it's in immaculate condition, under 25K miles and dealer-certified with a warranty. Even so, a well cared-for 04-06 would be 80% as much car and a relative bargain at $10-12,000 less. And you could get the better color.

I am only getting it Acura CPO and that's the only way I would buy a used car. And yea, I found an 06 manual with the similar mileage for $10k less. I do like the new features on the 07-08 but I am not sure if it's $10k more. I don't think I would even consider the 07-08 non Type-S. I found some auto Type-S's that are cheaper though.

You also have to remember that the 04-06 6mt are 3.2 liter engines. The 07-08 Type S are 3.5 liters. That right there also gives you the difference in price. Some people are willing to shell out a little more money for the extra hp (and a newer car.)
I believe the 07-08 non Type S does not come in manual but if you are ok with that, you may find a cheap auto around. Happy hunting.

Plus the Type-S MT is very hard to find. Supply/Demand is driving some of the premium.

In the Chicagoland area I dont think there is a single Type S for sale in the 20's. I kid you not they are all listed in the low 30's. These suckers hold their value I love it!!! The 6mt Type S's arent necessarily bringing in any extra money over the auto's if anything they are cheaper since no one really wants a manual 4 door sedan. Besides that they are so hard to come by you cant really make the comparison anyway.
Like I said though if you get a mint low mileage 07/08 Type S be prepaired to spend very high 20's atleast. They are amazing cars though and worth it!!

True, well I should have said the majority :-) I know there is a silver 08 at my local Naperville Acura that they are asking like $34K for it LOLOLOL Doesnt even have that low of mileage that you think it would for that price.

If you want a 6mt, don't settle for the Auto. You will regret it...

BTW: Don't the Type-S have problems with pinging? There is a long rediculous thread on here with tons of people complaining about it...

Yea, I think I really do want the manual.......
If the prices don't change soon(it might because 2010 6-speed just came out?), it might come down to 06 manual or auto Type-S. 07-08 non-Type S is most likely out of the question. I don't want the best model.
