04 vs 05 TL - Changes???

Hi all. I used to own an 04 TL w/ NAV back in 04. I had to sell it when I got a job that included a company car. I've changed companies and will now be buying another TL. I'm looking at 04's again because of the lower price point but considering a few 05's. What changes were made (I understand they're likely small) from the 04 to the 05 TL's?

Thanks!

from what i know....the 05's have updated seats. the 04 TL's have two sections on the butt part of the seat and the 05's have 3 sections.

Seats... early 04s were involved in the transmission recall so check the VIN, or go with an 05 (05 will likely have lower mileage and still be in warranty)

From the TL wiki:

The 2005 TL received a passenger airbag cutoff switch and extra stitching on the front seats. There were several minor changes made (such as changes in seat belt anchor mounts) which are not published. With a very competitive MSRP range, the TL is often seen as "Unbelievable Value For the Money" among car critics.

Has anyone compared the 04 and 05 seats? Any benefit to the 05 seat?

Thanks

Probably just made it stronger so it doesn't wear as easily, or like midnight said the 05 has 3 sections on the part for your rear, so maybe with the 3 peices it's a little more flexible and won't rip or tear after 50k miles

Absolutely!

The '05 seats are slightly firmer, have better support, extra stitching, and are more resistant to butt brints.
