I'm looking to upgrade from my 2000TL.

Right now there is a really nice 2004 TL with only 12K miles on it available. I usually don't like to get the 1st version of a redesign car, but its a great deal. Was there a lot of differences between the 1st year 3rd generation TLs and the 05-08 models? I know many of the differences in the 2nd genration models and was wondering if there was a thread or something explaining the 3rd generation differences.

I have one of each (an '04 manual and an '05 automatic). The wife drives the '05; my preference is the manual '04.

As for differences, the only visual difference of which I am aware is the seats between the '04 and '05. Otherwise, it is virtually the same car. Oh, and the passenger side air bag warning light is between the two center dash vents on the '05. On the '04, that position is occupied by the 4-way flasher button.
