From '04 TSX to an '08 TL, opinions please
Currently I have an 04 with only 80xxx miles, question is get or not to get an almost 7 year old car, always liked how the 04-08 TL look. What are the pros and cons from the 04 TSX to the 08 TL ? We know the TL is faster. Any major issuses with the TL ?
Thanks guys for your opinions.

They definitely are different cars and offer different pros and cons. The TSX is a very good car and great value for the money. Not completely sure if "upgrading" to a 08 TL would be a significant one to you or not though. Ever test drive one?

I had an '05 TSX 6MT w/ Navi and although it was a nice little car (I've always LOVED the tsx), I ended up selling it fairly quick. I now have an '06 TL 6MT w/ Navi and A-Spec package and I couldn't imagine selling this car.
Why? I have no idea. I think a part of me found the K24 just not satisfying enough. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad engine, but the J-series in comparison makes me smile so much more. I fell in love with the engine when I had my '03 Accord EX-V6 6MT coupe. Sure, it's not the greatest for making huge power, but it's fantastic for daily driving with pretty good fuel economy and pick up.
Also, in comparison, an '08 TL will have many more electrical gizmos as compared to an '04 TSX.
More room, nicer ride, more gizmos, more power, more "upper crust" looks inside and out, why wouldn't you think it's a good idea?? I say do it!

Thanks you guys for the comments. Never drove the 04-08 TL's. Theres is one not too far way from me, a 08 TL-S with 82xxx miles for $19000. Is it a good price ?
I had the TSX for the last 8 years and would like something different.

I have to chime in on this thread...
I totaled my 04 TSX 6 speed non navi about a month ago. I picked up an 06 TL 6 speed navi about a week after. I really miss the TSX for a couple of reasons that don't out weigh my TL.
First, I am what some would call a "spirited" driver. Anyone can drive a fast car fast but it takes skill to drive a slower car fast.
The TSX was connected to the road and the second I got behind the wheel, I was quickly able to find that car's limits, ie. handling, etc. The TL is more luxury and as such it is more disconnected or isolated from the road.
The TSX is so damn simple to work on. I could have the dash pulled out in no time, literally. The TL, well, Honda put a screw everywhere they could hide one! I can never leave anything alone so as I type this the majority of my TL interior is sitting in my garage.
I love the TL but I am finding that because of the K series, the aftermarket support for the TSX is far greater. Not to say that there is no support for the TL though.
Overall, I wouldn't get rid of my TL and I don't regret my decision to get it. With that being said, had I not wrecked my TSX, I probably would have never gotten rid of her, either.

I bought an 04 TL base with 16,000 miles about two weeks ago. I simply love it. While looking for my TL, I also searched for TSX's but every one I found had well over 100k miles on them and as a daily driver, I wanted less than 50k.
Back in 03 I leased a new Aegean Blue Pearl TL-S and loved it. I should've bought the lease out but I wanted an SUV at the time. I got the SUV, then found a really nice 04 Maxima SE that I picked up. That was traded in when the kids came along and I got back into an SUV until now.
While I'd like to have a newer TL- I am 100% happy with my purchase. It's just a pleasure to drive it and looking back, I don't think I would've been satisfied with the TSX's size and relatively lower hp.
