04 TL vs 04 G35...

After I hit 95+ I had like 2 cars... I was still in 4th gear when he shifted into 5th. I believe a g35 redline is 6200-6400...
maybe I'll get a longer video sometime this week. The guy in the G is my cousin... so, there will be plenty of race. Also, beat my buddy's 06 350z (300hp) rolling at 90mph.. We were side by side till I hit 5th gear (around 125ish) slowly pulled on em.

Dave B will be along shortly to rain on your parade and tell you that it's a well known fact amongst the Infiniti community that certain '04 6 spd G35's suffered from a parabolic/hyperbolic resonance induced G-shock power loss when Stillen intakes are installed, thus reducing the G's WHP to around 80 and that he hung with you pretty well for having less than 100 ponies.
But hey......nice kill.

Street racing = worthless. I don't know how many times I have to say that.
Just a 0.2 second reaction time difference can mean car lengths as the race progresses. Like I've said numerous time before, I've beaten many 13-second cars at the strip because outreacted and/or out 60'd them. They still posted a better ET, but I still got to the finish first. If that was a street race, ignorant people would think I had the faster car. It would be silly for me to post a street race of my G35 putting multiple car lengths on an LS1 F-body (mid to low 13 second car) and claim my car is quicker
Why don't you guys keep the stupidity off the street and take it to the strip? Are you so worried about finding out what your car is really capable of?
BTW, the 03/04 G35s redline at 6600rpms, about 6800rpm indicated on the tach. Additionally, Cobb Tuning has recently proven that the Stillen CAI, pop chargers, and other aftermarket G35/Z intakes, including their own prototype, hurt power by 3 to 8whp. All the intakes negatively impacted the A/F ratios and make them bounce all over the place, especially above 4500rpms. The catback (assuming it's true dual) is good for about 4 to 8whp.

The TL 5AT will get raped by '04 G35 5AT, in both 0-60 and 0-150. There is no chance unless the driver in the G35 keeps the gas pedal pressed down half way.

The 04 Gs were dogs... The newer ones tach to 7500RPMS and probably hit 60 in about 5 seconds. One of the problems with the G is there should be a bit more torque, they have fewer gears than some cars, and they are a bit heavier.

Talking about G35 sedans only:
1) 03/04 G35 sedan was rated at 260hp/260tq with a redline of 6600rpms, but really was just the same 280hp/270tq motor used in the G coupe of the same years. On the dyno, the 260hp G sedan makes about 3whp less than the 70lbs heavier 280hp G coupe. Typical auto/6MT performance is in the 14.1 to 14.5 @95-99mph range.
2) 05/06 G35 sedan auto was re-rated to 280hp/270tq. The only change was to a exhaust midpipe which used a much smaller resonator. The resonator gave the sedan a healthier sound, but no additional power. The extra 20hp/10tq was strictly a way to make G sedan owners feel like they were getting something new with motor. Typical auto/6MT performance is in the 14.1 to 14.5 @95-99mph range.
3) 05/06 G35 sedan 6MT came with a revised VQ35 known as the Rev-up motor. It added variable exhaust cam timing along with a higher flow intake manifold. These two additions to the motor gave it a rating of 298hp/260tq and the motor was able to rev to 7,100rpms. The Rev-ups were much softer in the lower rpms, but were stronger above 5500rpms. On the drag strip, there's really no measurable difference in ET, though the Rev-up does tend to trap about 1mph higher. The increase in power was mostly to sell cars because the reality was the car wasn't any quicker than the one it replaced.
4) 07/08 G35 (Generation 2) is rated at 306hp/270tq (new SAE ratings). These cars have the new VQ35HR or VQ35 "High Revolution" which makes strong power above 5000rpms and revs out to 7500rpms. Unfortunately with the 6MT, revving the motor this high will vibrate your hand into a mash potato. These cars weigh about 180lbs more than the gen they replaced and make about 35whp/5wtq more with a much broader powerband. Overall, these cars tend to be about .4 and 3mph faster than the 1st gen cars. Typical auto/6MT performance is in the 13.6 to 14.1 @99-102mph range.
