'04 TL Tune Up !

Heys guys. So my 04 TL has 102k. I bought the car back in january with 90k and haven't really done any maintence too it other then the usual oil change. The car still runs immaculate so it hasnt really giving me a reason too do anything. But now im starting to get worried lol. Other then the sevice that I have coming up, the 105K timing belt and water pump, what else should I replace in my TL?

Spark Plugs - Check and replace if needed...no need to check all 6...you can make out the condition by looking into 2-3 of them...Replace with NGK Iridium IX
Coolant Flush - Please use Acura Type II Coolant
PS Flush - Please use Acura PS Fluid
Engine Oil change - I use Redline but you cant go wrong with Mobil1/Pennsoil/Amsoil/etc...you will find various opinion...but i would recommend 5W30...
Transmission Flush - I am using Redline Racing Type F ATF since the stock Z1 fluid is crap...you can do with that or Redline D4 which is a decent oil or the Acura DW1 (newly released)...
Brake Bleeding: Use and Dot 3/4/5.1....Please do not use Dot 5
Engine Air filter: Check and replace if needed. If planning on replacing do look into Cold Air Intakes...
Cabin Air filter: Check and replace if needed....
Check the belts and make sure they are ok until 50-60K miles....
Check the brakes/tires

This is an awesome community which is always willing to help....there is DIY (do it yourself) post with tons or pictures/videos to help you change everything at home...you can find the list here:

Did you get maintenance records when you purchased the car? That is important. If you didn't get records I would recommend looking at the following....

Filters - Change
Plugs - Change
Belts - Check, change if needed
Hoses - Check, change if needed
Battery - Check, change if needed
Brakes - Check, change if needed
Brake Fluid - Change if original
Coolant - Change if original
Alignment - Check if never done or no record
Suspension - Have you had any issues with it? Have it looked at.

Where do you live? I recommend shopping around for deals on the timing belt service. Do not just go with what the dealer tells you.

I just received the Haines service manual I ordered online. Wow! That tells in detail all maintenance. And/or repairs that your tl will ever need. I highly recommend buying it, if your a DIY kind of person.

There are a ton of Acura/Honda dealers around your area. Go on their web sites and see what specials you can find. I looked at a couple near me and I have found 15% off or $200 off coupons for timing belt service. I am sure you will fine the same.

fyi, i just had the timing belt done on my 04 and the timing belt tensioner was starting to leak. so above all else, i'd prioritize that.

i had the shop do the typical things associated with a TB job. also had them do the front seals for both cams and crank. also the thermostat even though it's on the back side. they also bled my clutch.

I did my timing belt at 110k and the tensioner was leaking, look like it was doing it for a while. The belt, pully, and waterpump were still very good shape. The tensioner did concern me, so anyone pushing your timing belt interval... maybe dont.

100,740 at the time I had the work done. I wasn't going to wait until 105K since it's already been 7 years and 2+ months since it's been on the road.

A bit of a hike but check out Hamilton Honda in NJ. They had a hell of a deal for the TB service. The price has gone up buy keep checking back with them to see if it comes back down. That is what I plan on doing.
