i'm driving home from work today on the highway and about 3 miles from my exit, some cars are merging onto the highway, one of which is this blue rx-8 who just can't wait to get in the left lane (he tried twice and had to swerve back into his lane before wrecking)...finally he moves over behind me a few car lengths away, but hauls ass to catch up to me...i'm doing 80 and this douche bag is tailing the shit outta me...we stay cruising at 80, not being able to do anything since i've got a buick in front of me and it's five o' clock rush hour traffic...about 2 miles down the road, traffic is finally starting to spread out...the buick moves over into the right lane and i drop it into 3rd...that rx-8 was getting smaller and smaller in my rear view, but i had to slow down after a few seconds because i caught up with the traffic in front of me...then, after the rx-8 has made his way back onto my tail, i see a black G35 in the right lane...he's doing 65 and as i get closer, i notice it says 'skyline' in the center of his car on the rear and '350gt' on the top-right corner...it was black with black rims...of course i knew what would happen if i went up against that beast...so my exit is 1/2 mile away, the G35 doesn't seem to want to play, so i blow by him and move into the right lane and exit...

sorry to disappoint all those who were expecting to read about a high-speed race, but it always seems that when i find the sweetest cars to go up against, the situation is never good for me...i either have an exit to take or i'm not going in the same direction, etc...but the G35 did look nice...i'm sure it was just a G35 with fancy emblems on it, since the real 350GT is only sold in japan, but it looked good...it looked something like this...



...except it was black...i've read about the rx-8 and other people's experiences with them, so i could have probably taken him, but it would have been fun as hell for all 3 of us to go at it.....maybe another day...

 

Good race with the RX-8 buddy. He must have been automatic cause I raced one a while back and it was dead even all the way up to 120mph...although you could have more than just an intake, which is all I have. As for the G35, or "Skyline" there is a really nice looking one in my area that looks amazing and is black as well. Would have been cool if you could have had a run with him. Anyways, peace!

Nope, I don't think they have a twin turbo 350GT. I think that engine is rumored for the next gen GTR. IF they turbocharge the VQ35 engine, it would easily make over 400hp+. But currently, the 350GT has the same engine as the G35 here. I think they also use a CVT with 8-speed auto mode, and I think that's called the 350GT-8.

 

The current FM platformed G35 (and its JDM 350GT counterpart) do not have a factory installed forced induction system. Any that are turbo'd are likely sourced from the aftermarket.

The powertrain for the upcoming GTR is still under wraps but it sounds like it will be a boosted VQ motor.

 

Naah man i saw 1 here The same SKYLINE and everything as you have 1 on picture on GrandCentral in NEWYORK. First i also thought he just made all that bull up but now that ive seen that in pic and wat ur talkin about, Theyr FOR REAL!

 

Yea, the Infiniti G35 is called the Nissan Skyline in Japan, but it's no GTR.
