04 TL Built in where? Japan or US
Okay, so far so good...
I'm hoping it'll have the New Inspire Engine (i-VTEC) and that it's built in Japan.
The reason I skipped '02/'03 TL was because I saw the embarassing lack of refinements (interior).

P.S. Also, in the last 2+ years, my car has been to the dealership for only the moonroof squeak problem, and I also got a scheduled oil change when I got that taken care of. I love my 02' TLS. You're gonna have problems no matter what you buy. Even Benz owners have huge problems and those are made in Germany.

i do believe that honda products that were assembled in japan were/are better than the ones done here in the us. they put more pride in what they do. the americans only care about how much they are getting paid to do there job and overall quality is lower.

It works like this:
RL - Japan
MDX - Ontario, Canada
TL - Ohio, US
CL - Ohio, US
TSX - Japan
RSX - Japan
EL (Canada Only) - Ontario, Canada
Accords are mostly from Ohio. Once in a while, you get one from Japan, when the Ohio plant exceeds it capacity.
Civics are from Ontario, Canada.

Quite a few Civics are made in East Liberty, Ohio as well.
In fact, I'd say about 70% of Civics that I've seen in the west coast are built in Ohio. The Element is built in Ohio, the 2nd Gen TL was built in Ohio and it was shipped to Japan for export as the Inspire.

Yes the Si is built in Swindon, England. I forgot to mention that. Quite a few Civics in Europe are built there.
On a side note, some CRV's are built in England too.

Yes, civic si are made in UK. The Swindon plant supplies a lot of civics to the European market.
The Ohio Plant is mainly for 3 models, the TL, CL and Accords.
One thing to note is that they have built a plant in Thailand too and that is going to be providing the "american" accords for most Asian markets, except Japan, which has the euro accord, not the "american" accord.
Also, the "american" accord will replace the tl and become Inspire in Japan, which I heard will be made in Japan.

The TL / Inspire built in Japan are actually better built and finished... Trust me, I've seen them. The gaps between panels are better aligned (simply because the production line in Japan pay more attention to detail)
the tranny problem is also not found on the other side of the planet, the moonroof rattling is...
I wonder if they'll built the 04 TL in Japan... the car looks sooo american, and the sales for the TL in Asia is not that thrilling either...

It's just me, but I would NEVER buy an Acura made in Ohio, nor a BMW made in South Carolina nor a Benz made in Alabama nor a Maxima made in Tennessee.
If I wanted a Buick or Ford or car made here, I'll buy a Buick or Ford.
Can't blame business, trying to save $$$$$. But why buy a foreign car if it's not foreign?

The only thing that distinguishes a domestic/foreign car is where the company is based. I'm happy to have a US made car, thanks. And if it's a quality Honda product, all the better

If you're wanting to buy an Acura/Honda because it is "foreign" you picked the wrong company. Most Honda's/Acura's have higher US parts content than some Ford's and Chryslers. Want a foreign car? The PT Cruiser is mostly Mexican as the Ford Focus. The Toyota Avalon is about 75% US, most Civics are about the same... just look at the sticker on the side of a new car, they are required to list the amount of foreign/US parts and the point of Assembly.
