ive been searching but can't find much...
so does the 07-08 type s bumper + a spec front bumper, skirts, and rear bumper fit an 04 base model ? my step dad took my car to work and an RV hit my car and ran. so were stuck. with a wrecked front bumper. so thinking of an upgrade. will this work with no mods or light mods? plus thinkin of adding the fogs too.

 

 

As far as I have read the a-spec for the TL-S will not fit on a base model without doing some cutting. Best bet is to get a TL-S front bumper but I am not sure if this will require any modifications or not to put the TL-S bumper on a base.

There should be some threads around about it.

yes, a type-s bumper will fit the 04 TL.
I thought, i explained this to you already.

but you will need to buy all the accessories for the type-s bumper. which runs up the price.

you're looking at:
unpainted type-s bumper - ~$250
paint - ~$250
a- bar - $77
lower grills - 30 each.
honey comb grill - ~$30
fog lights - ~$220 each from dealer...~$175 for pair at USR

you're looking at about a $700-800 upgrade.

then tack on the aspec kit. - ~$140ish

 

no modifications if you are putting on a type-s bumper (front and rear); you just need the accessories like crabman suggested. Side skirts fit too fyi

you would still have to modify it. I have the 07-08 base bumber with the 04-06 a-spec front lip modified to fit the bumper.

I love the look of the 04-06 a-spec lip on the 07-08 TL. I always liked the 04-06 tl over 07-08 just because the front lip. Great job on the mod!

U can use a 07-08 base bumper and type s lip will fit....have plenty of friends who have done it

Hi guys don't mean to jack the tread and I know this thread is getting old but I'm still fairly new to this site and just had a question, would the 07-08 base A Spec lip kit be a direct fit on the 04-06 TL base with no modifications??? Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

 

Since no one responded, no, it wont fit since the fogs are bit oval shape iirc

I have an 04 base TL with the Aspec front and rear lips. Will the Type S rear lip fit directly on? I want to get the quad tipped XLR8 non resonated catback exhaust system.

I have searched azine but it seems everyone wants to switch to the type s rear bumper so i havent found an answer to my question

Yes it will fit but you have to cut up the exhaust port area a little bit as the type-s is wider.

 

^ Exactly what mahara said. Fitting the quad tip exhaust requires some trimming. If you take your time it won't look too bad. Search around for other who have done it.

 

I mean if you take your time it will look stock. The a-spec lip covers any of your cuts. Just remember that there is no going back to only a stock bumper after the cuts have been made.

There may also be some modding required for where the lip mounts on the inside of the wheel well. But don't quote me on that.
