I consider 222 RWHP pretty low for a motor rated 270 at the crank. My bone stock 3.0 NSX motor is rated at 270 and puts 246 HP to the ground. The link doesn’t do a very good job explaining that the torque difference between the motors is a conscious decision by Honda to achieve higher HP at higher redline in the NSX, at the expense of torque. I do agree with their comments about the funny drop-off in the TL curve.

Is your NSX a manual tranny? Our auto tranny loses ~25% of it's power at the tranny.

Will there be modded ECU's that will unlock this horsepower? I don't really understand what that means either, can someone explain how this ECU blocks power and how someone unlocks that power. Is the car designed to use all that unlocked power?

a ECU is a computer that controls the whole engine and other things. from the way they they were talking it sounds like honda detuned the engine witth the ECU, meaning they are probably retarding spark and starting to cut fuel at higher rpm to help keep the HP down. a modded ECU would be basically a reprograming of all the parameters of the ECU to extract the lost hp. will some one make it??? do we hope some will try?? YES

Good point, the NSX is a 5-speed. I would like to see a dyno pull on a 6-speed TL.

That was a 6MT TL: http://www.vtec.net/articles/view-ar...&page_number=3

That said, the WHP sounds about right in line with 270hp (crank) minus 18% drivetrain loss. $.02
