I had a dilemma that I was wondering if you guys could chime in on..

I have an 04 SSM and I would like to get the ALTP quads in the near future. Now I am aware I will have to switch to TypeS rear end for the exhaust to properly fit. Now my question is since there was no Type S in 04 and they discontinued the color SSM and changed to ASM.. then is there anything I can do? Are ASM and SSM similar enough to just throw an ASM typeS bumper on there? or will I need to get it repainted? (Which will be a B$(%* seeing how the darn exhaust is $1100+$400bumper) If anyone has any experience with these colors, I would appreciate the help.. Thanks

 

I've herd the color difference is soo minimal you can only see it in sunlight....

ATLP is also coming out with a base version exhaust for the 04-06 models that will fit your stock bumper, but it is not a quad exhaust.

 

Yeah I saw that.. But Im pretty sold on the quads, but depending on how the base exhaust looks/sounds/performs then I will seriously consider them as well.. I hear they will sound and perform identical to the quads..

 

i did it....cut out a lil bit on the bottom of the bumper for the type s pipes to fit in the 05 bumper... but now i have the whole type s bumper n body kit setup painted ssm

 

How did the base bumper cut up look? Did it look legit or ghetto?

 

theres a diy somewhere, where someone cut up a base bumper and slapped on a type s rear lip. pretty clean job but you can never go back. cheaper than getting a type s bumper and you get the rear lip as well.
