Ive got an 04 6mt. Ive had a squeaking noise at idle for a bit. Definitely sounds like something rotating at relative rpms to the engine. I just noticed today that when i put the clutch in, the noise disappears. AZ is always my first stop for help...... and always right too. Any 6MTers deal with this?

 

Not sure enough yet if this is specific to the TL but it sounds to me like the Pilot bearing (clutch) or Throw out bearing (transmission) Especially if you push the pedal in and it goes away.

How many miles? OEM original clutch?

113k miles. i assume original clutch. i bought with 92k last year. it must be original clutch.

the car shifts perfectly, tho.

 

It'll shift fine and you can most likely ignore the bearing noise until you do the clutch.

When you replace the clutch, the kits come with the pilot bearing anyway. Input shaft bearing however is in the trans.
