Hey, I'm new to the TL community. I'm about to buy a 04 TL and was wondering how come they show up as 270hp and the 06+ are 258hp? Aren't they the same motors?

 

i believe it was merely a change in how the hp ratings were achieved. they should be identical still.

 

+1 same motor and horsepower. just the horsepower ratings changed. The type-s though has the bigger engine and more power.

 

The HP rating was changed via SAE. I remember having an argument with some idiot on youtube claiming the 04-05 were faster then the 06-08.

 

 

TL base has had the same engine and HP for 5 years str8 04-08, type-s has larger engine, 25 more HP.
