Does anyone know why the 04-05 tl has more HP and if there are any differences between the 04-05 and the 06. Meaning one slower than the other. Please this has been really driving me crazy...

Same engine, same power, 2006 the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) publishe d anew standard in how to measure HP, thus it appears to have dropped.

Much like gas milage, your HP was a bit inflated... hence the recalibration.

Interestingly, some auto's actually measure MORE HP with the new standard.

No don't go thinking you can go trounce your buddies 2006 with your young ass... That little difference in HP is almost negligable.

i drive an 06, thats why i was asking, if i were to drive another year i would of just tried to race them smart ass.

Nothing has changed but the advertising #'s. The cars are still equal, it is just the way they do the testing for the # that has changed. So don't worry, they 2 are equal. But this has been discussed a lot, and that is why he said to use the "search". Don't take it personally, but all 's are done this way. Think of it as a initiation. This is to keep from having a ton of threads that are all the same. Use the "search" and post a question in the old thread if the thread doesn't answer the question. So unless he has modded his TL or you have, there really won't be any fun as the two cars are for the most part equal. Or one is 6mt and the other 5at.
