What about:
I'm thinking on doing one of these for my own car.
It would be laser cut, 12 gauge, 5032 H34 Aluminum with a spiral brushed finish and affixed using four self-tapping screws.

Actually, the entire pedal would be laser cut and the shapes and TL would be cut out. Regarding exposing the black plastic behind it is not all that bad. Another thing to do if someone wants is to put a colored piece of PVC behind it so that the shapes and TL would appear to be a different color. Regarding the sharp corners, my friend who owns a laser can handle this down to 1/1000 of a human hair. I've produced some similiar for the Mazdaspeed community and I'm looking on doing one for myself. Never had a problem with the slippery pedal surface. Rubber doesn't always guarantee non-slippage depending what footwear you use. The Mazdaspeed community has never complaiend.
Also, 12 gauge is nice thickness and is not too thick at all. If someone chooses to put PVC behind it, it would only be 1-3mil thick (think of a thick garbage bag).

I've updated my design to VERSION 2.0. It looks much better now and has the ability to insert adhesive backed rubber feet to provide a non-slip surface in the holes.
What do you guys think?

First off let me say you've done a great job. Both of your designs are quite unique and glad to see people with the jam to get out there and blaze a trail and do something special.
So here's my take:
The screw holes look balanced in the pictures but I think you need an extra row of rubber dots at the top and bottom. Seems to me there is too much bare metal on the plate which will be slippery. If the word TL is not made of rubber then you might want to use even more dots than I suggested. I'd design the plate without thinking of the screws as a design element even though they are necessary. If you want a really oem professionally finished look to the product design a hole or half hole indent with the screws beneath them so the rubber dots conceal the screws.

Adding more holes for rubber feet and turning the screw holes into a rubber foot looking scenario wouldn't be that bad of an idea. The TL is not rubber, but holes could accomodate those little rubber feet you put on things that is adhesive backed. The pedal itself is about 1/8" thick, actually a bit thicker as it is 5032 Aluminum.

I like this design. Not sure I would want the TL to be rubber, though. Didn't notice, are these pedals intended to replace the existing or install over top of them?

Now where is there profit in that for me? Minimum order is $225.00. Figure $3.85 for USPS 2-3 Day and $2.00 for an padded envelope and screws. If you want rubber inserts, go to Home Depot. The cost would be under $17.00 and $13.00 respectively.
