03 TLS vs 04 Volvo s60R awd

I was in the left lane, there was an obstruction in the middle lane the the s60r wanted to be in front of me. there was plenty room behind yet he gunned it to get in front. I anticipated this and already put it in 3rd.

His engine growls and he slips in front of me. I step on the gas and I'm up his ass. He moves to the middle to clear a slower moving vehicle in the left lane. I follow and I'm still up his ass, once we have a nice clear stretch I make my move, go to the left and we're side by side. Both our cars screaming. I was pulling on him fast so I eased off the gas and gave him the "sorry bud, better luck picking on a slower car next time" look.

After that I into the middle lane and continued on my way.

nice but I wonder if he was really racing you, I think S60R has 300hp and is pretty quick?

it has a 300hp. turbo'd 2.5L five cylinder. At the speeds we were going it was def. a race.
It does the 1/4 in 14.4 compared to the TLS 14.8 So it is pretty close. IMO its the long 3rd gear and the displacement of the 3.2 v6 that gave me the edge.

also consider that the TLS was rated at 260 vs. the s60r 300 by the old standard. So these cars are direct competitors.

Sorry to burst your bubble but...that only happened because the driver(s) didn't know how to drive. True story.

u didnt burst my bubble cause i dont own the car anymore and upgraded to the Type S but i did happen to run a 14.87 in my TLP with just an AEM V2. My TLP was no slouch to be such a low powered car. But im well into the mid 13s now...14s are the past
