Well here we go guys Ive been looking to buy a lil project car, Like a civic integra so forth for a few now. So in my searches I come across a celica for cheap, I was seriously thinking about it untill this happened.

I was a light last night around 2am on my way to my girls house, When a guy flies up next to me like a bat out of hell. The light changes and he dumps the clutch and he's off looked like a quick lil launch and I could hear his turbo so I was a lil impressed. So I catch up with him at the next light and roll down my window and say hey that thing is a lil rocket huh? He says " Yeah and ill eat you up" . Now I just was going to ask him about the car and the possible mods because of my current interest in purchasing a older one and now he is challenging me to a race. So I say "You think so huh" He replies "go on green" and I say no lets take it to a smooth surface (I refuse to bend a rim racing anyone) so he agrees and we take it to a strip called the legion. So we line up and he is like you ready, I tell him to say go and we go he's like you sure im like yup, So he says go and we are of I jump 1-2 car lenths ahead soon as we take off and continue too pull it was so embarrising and I did not even turn off the traction or use sport or gateshiffting so we get to the end and he wants a chance to redem his self I say ok we line up again and I take off the tractin and use sport shift same results even worst it seemed.So after that run the guy goes "Damn what year is that" I go man this is a 2000 with only a aem cai he is like yeah well its fast as hell Im like thanks. Well he said he had a turbo and a few other things I cant remember and it did have exhaust but thoose things are anything but quick. So I guess getting one of thoose to make a project car Is out of the question. So there we go the the results was the celica got

all celica's are 4's. gt-s is 170hp 0-60 is around 7.2 w/turbo should beat a tl-p with just headers that car had something wrong with it.

Nope thoose things are slow and there was nothing wrong with the car. look a these.

stock numbers
2002 celica GT-S 0-60 7.3
2000 TL-p 0-60 6.7

The turbo would have to give it .6 of a second to tie by the numbers but that all depends on the driver as well and in this case the celica was

GT-S compression on the motor is too high 11:1. I used to own a 03 Matrix Xrs with the same motor its not all that great.you got to hit high rpm aroung 6k to feel the vvti to kick in there is older celicas that already have turbo go with that will save you $$$$

And you're not even a Type-S. Oh and if you're looking for a project car, if you have the money, the 2006 Civic Si with stock 200hp would make a good project car. Engine is a K20Z3

Looking for something older in age so i dont have to insure it till im done and can basically get it for short money and dump alot into it strickly for racing I have the TL and the R1 for cruising.

I raced a GT-S on the highway a while back...it wasnt even close. I was driving about 60 mph (speed limit of 55) - and next thing I know this car was all over my ass...so I bait him to see if he will pass me and when he gets beside me, we floor it, and pull away without a problem. I knew he was trying because I could hear his intake/and or/fart can when we floored it. and he gave me the classic fart can fly by when I pulled off.
