Thumbs up ** 2004 TL Wing & Lip Spoiler GroupBuy **

Hey all,

Some of you may remember from a few weeks back that Lore had posted a GB for the TL lip and wing spoilers. Since this board does not allow outside advertisers that topic was closed, however, Lore was very interested in getting this done, so he contacted me. We (www.c-c-c.net) were able to work some numbers and get you guys some pretty sweet pricing on these spoilers..... so please see the details below:

========================
GB: Genuine Acura 2004 TL Lip Spoiler
Price: $294.99
Shipping: Free
-------------------------------
GB: Genuine Acura 2004 TL Wing Spoiler
Price: $389.99
Shipping: Free
====================

Expires: 11:59pm, Saturday, May 15, 2004.

Direct Link: http://c-c-c.net/CustomCarCreations/...upBuysMain.htm

- Order is placed the day you make payment (no waiting until 5/15).

- Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

- Shipping to lower 48 states only.

- Prices lower for money order payments. See link for details.

If the color of your TL is not listed on the pull downs, please PM me here or email me at my personal address (juniorbean@yahoo.com) and I'll have it added.

Any questions, let me know.

Good deal junior. I remember you from the CL forum. I am considering the lip spoiler but I was looking at the wings west lip spoiler for the 99-03 tl...100 dollars cheaper and looks a little more substansial. I may wait to see what they make for the 04 tl...I will let you know.

Now or Then?

Nice Price...

If I pay today, is it shipped now or are they all shipped out after May 15th?

Nope, no waiting....Order is placed when the money is received... and you should have it on your doorstep 2-3 weeks from the day you order.

I'll put that in the original post in case anyone else was wondering

In case no one noticed on the group buy ordering site, if you pay by Money Order your prices are slightly lower due to the savings from CC processing fees.

Lip: $289.99
Wing: $379.99

Hope everyone takes this opportunity to snag one!

LOL, One thing at a time

There was a ton of interest for these which is why this was done... if there's a lot of interest in bodykits we'll do those next

They're shipped directly to you, so it's up to you to have them installed. If you prefer the dealer do it, then that's one option. If you're comfortable doing it yourself, that's another option.

ditto on the bodykits...perhaps a 3rd GB for the bodykit plus either the lip spoiler or wing for ~$1,000-$1,100 shipped and I think you will get some good responses.

mgale@kotorpa.com for the body kit. If you do do it, I am interested in 1) Getting just certain pieces and 2) if my dealer can install it for me.

As mentioned, won't happen until this is over. It took almost 3 weeks to get this pricing for you guys... so once this ends we'll get you some kit prices seperately.

That's assuming it sells for $249. I bid on one the other day that started at $250 plus $35 for shipping. It ended up selling for $265 plus $35 for shipping. And for those of us in California, you'd have to add tax to the currect auction.

Exactly... plus you're not guaranteed one unless you win. These are shipped directly from an Acura dealer and the price is what it is, no auction, nothing. These prices were matched from an Acura dealer in California, so these prices are pretty much the best Acura will allow. Not sure where the newbie on eBay is getting them from, but that's the chance you take to save a whole $5 (if you win it at $250 since shipping is typically $30-$35)...... plus, eBay and it's sellers don't support this board

Actually, that's not entirely true (the open forum thing).... When an authorized vendor (those who assist with the board) post specials like these, any replies suggesting where they can possibly be found cheaper posted within the topic are typically deleted, however, since I'm running the GB I cannot delete any of the posts, one of the others would have to.

No one is forcing anyone to buy these spoilers from this vendor. Always do your own due diligence. If you can find it for a better price, great, but that doesn't mean that this group buy isn't a good price either -- but just know even if you find it for a better price, the extra money you might spend (as a result of the lower price) from buying it here will:

1) Provide you with peace of mind that you're buying from a reputable vendor who the moderator has connections with, and
2) Allow you to indirectly support the forum which we all enjoy

Further, if you buy it from that vendor on eBay, the price with shipping to Northern California is actually $2 higher than buying it from this vendor ($392 vs. $390) due to taxes.

Well, whatever. Do what you like as makes no diffrence to me. I'm not here to argue for either the ebay vendors, nor the vendors offering them as a group buy.

go ahead, try your luck on eBay, with a seller who has feedback of 1. LOL

From a post here not too long ago, it's not that hard to install it yourself. You drill 3 holes with a provided template carefully and touch up the exposed metal with paint and the rest adheres via ultra strong 3M double stick tape and 2 screws. There is a piece that makes the trunk springs stronger so that the trunk won't hit you on the head but not installing it will not make a significant difference since I have a decklid on my Camry now and the trunk simply doesn't "whip" open as quickly as it once did.

Someone else wanna chime in on the install?

Install should not be that high since the spoiler is pretty much ready to go. I'd be surprised if a dealer charged you more then $50.... but best bet is to check with your local guy. You can also do the install yourself as many have suggested

Lore/Astro - Thanks for the replies .... and before anyone else asks.. no, we are not making money on this... we're actually losing a little bit after all of our costs are taken out, but we did it b/c we were asked to match a price and we did. Thanks

the lip spoiler is cheaper through this group buy, but the wing spoiler from that ebay auction ends up being 25 dollars cheaper. And you're guarenteed to get it, if you do buy it now ($350), shipping was 25 bucks WITH insurance.

Most dealers go by hourly rate. So anything up to an hour is a standard price, even if it only takes 30 mins. Most dealers are $80-$100 per hour.

technically its not that hard at all, align it up, drill holes, mount and change the tensioners. I personally would feel uncomfortable doing this AND if the dealer or a shop screws up, they have to buy you a new trunk

I could also careless where anyone gets it, but someone on here not long ago bought a wing off ebay and it was a knockoff. For a few extra dollars I would get the original. Thats just my $.02.

Thanks for putting together this goup buy. I just bought the decklid. It is $100.00 cheaper than my local dealer in Fl (Plus no tax). What are peoples feelings about having the dealer vs. a bodyshop install the spoiler? Labor charges at the Dealer are going for $150.00. I am also ready for a bodykit group buy.

The Honda Acura World site provides Acrobat files of the Acura shop procedures for this and many other pieces for many models. Click on the INSTRUCTIONS button at the top right of the page and find your model. I can't seem to add the link so type in "www dot honda acura world dot com" in your browser running everything together.

They have done a great job compiling this information.

So much for democracy -- no comments whatsoever, huh?

I think TL members should benefit from the best prices people have found, and it each members' perogative to determine if she/he will purchase the product from that place. This forum, as I have always know it to be, should continue to foster the empowerment and increased knowledge base in ALL forum members.

Thanks
