The $550 Honda Finance fee

Does Honda really charge a $550 lease origination fee to the dealer? Or is this just another profit increasing gimmick?

That's the fee in NJ and my understanding is that it's the same in every state. Negotiate on the cost of the car if you want to take advantage of Honda Leasing. They offer GAP insurance, $1500 in damage at turn in and $.15 per extra mile penalty. I'm happy with them so far.

I have researched this, and it seems that it is very difficult to avoid the origination fee when leasing a car, regardless of who is providing the funding. The bank COULD waive this, but it is not up to the dealer. If you have the time, you could ask your dealer to try to negotiate this with the lender, and also check with other lenders on your own.

HOWEVER - Do not EVER pay a "disposition fee" at the end of your lease! This is TOTAL rip off, just another way to scam another $600 out of you. THIS is dealer added, and can be quickly removed as well.
