Can't really tell if it's a good price or not since I have a 06. I do however know for a fact that if you already purchased the car. Do not go looking for a "good price or not" as some of the answers you get may just piss you off.

Buy warranty on internet = save $$. Take a look at the Doc & prep fees. Shop internet manager at other dealers within your driving distance.

Not to single you out, but I often wonder why people pay $1700 for extended warranty whent he car has a 6/70 drive train warranty, do you think you'll have $1700 in claims that would have fallen outside the regular warranty? Do you keep you cars that long? My philosiphy is if I need an extended warranty on the car I am buying the wrong car.

If it helps there's an 07 Demo Unit w/ 4k miles, nav, chrome rims, wood shift knob for $39k at a dealer here.. Atleast yours is brand new and out the door @ 39k

Edit: It's actually listed for $40,015.00

A used 07 costs more than a brand new 07 Type-S.. crazy!

Way too much. I bought my 6MT Type-S for less than this in June. I don't have extended warranty but don't feel I need it. I live in New Mexico and I shopped the dealers in Colorado but they wanted way too much. I went to Texas to purchase mine - you may want to consider doing the same.

It's not way too much. You paid $34,425 for the car which is still under MSRP. I'm not sure if everyone else is factoring in your warranty and tax.

Pricing all depends on the dealer and market you are in.

I paid 37000 out the door with a 07 Tl-typ-s manual in las vegas, where the closest dealer shop is over 200miles away in cali. i wouldn't paid more than 35000 for regular TL. don't take what they gave you. do you have a trade in? and does your states give taxes credit back?

I bought mine when it first came out in '04. I paid MSRP and have never looked back.
It is what it is and just enjoy the car (unless you have not bought it yet).

I'm going to have to say that there's really no point with this thread since the car has already been bought...

The MSRP on your car is $36,225. You got $1,800 off the MSRP. Could you have doone better, Maybe but this is an OK deal. I certainly don't think you got ripped off.

You can't avoid the sales tax and the extended warranty is a matter of personal choice (Although they are a lot cheaper on the internet)

Overall I say, JUST ENJOY YOUR NEW CAR... and welcome to the forum.

That's not a good deal and you defiantly don't need that extended warranty.

I just picked up my new Type-S on Saturday for $36,000.00 out-the-door with some accessories installed.

You're asking for it!

Why not come here and check the 3G Garage sticky which has a whole section on buying strategies BEFORE you buy the car.

The car price doesn't seem bad but then you were had by the bullshit "document fees" (something some dealers made up to add more profit back into the deal) and the Extended Warranty which appears to have about a 100% markup. You can get it much cheaper directly as others have mentioned.

For others who are shopping and haven't bought yet, there is a wealth of information here :

You can do better. The TL is not selling well right now - it seems like everyone who wants one already has one. The 2008 model is now on the website and in a few places on dealer lots, so a 2007 is becoming a 'leftover' with decreased residual value. Plus Honda Finance has crappy interest rates this month, so the dealerships don't have much to offer folks other than lowering the price.

I paid $1,000 below invoice on an 07 TL-S last month, and that was inside the DC beltway where dealers almost NEVER dig into their holdback because the rent is so high. I'm confident that you can get at least invoice somewhere in your area...

Oh and yes, you should be paying half for those doc fees and extended warranty.

You have to be a dick when buying a car, but you'll save alot of dough that way...

The DVD drive for the nav just went out in my 06 at 35K. If that had been 3wks later the car would have more than 36K and I would have been screwed.

Isn't your warranty good to 50K?

Same thing happened to my '04 (under warranty). They have to replace the whole nav unit in the trunk, not just the drive. About $2K if it wasn't under warranty. Kind of pisses me off that a $50 DVD drive can't just be swapped out.

I disagree with postor that is against ext warranties. Have a window motor, headlight, or AC go out and you'll be glad you have a warranty, extended or not.
Not to mention any Navi work.

I personally would not pay the price for an 07 TLS, used RLs are cheaper and IMO, higher quality, Jp built, better interior, and less common. But I have a 6speed CLS and the TL is not enough of a change for me.

35,400 for a TL-S in June.

Doc fees were $50 as I recall. T,T & L vary by state.

I thought I got a good deal - after all, that's what matters - was the deal good to YOU?

Correction: You should be paying NOTHING for "document fees".

They are just added dealer profit. They imply that it is for official documents. It's not. It is just hot air; bullshit. It is a way for them to quote you a low-ball price on the phone or Internet, and then jack you up after you sign the dotted line.

It is deceptive and the mark of an unscrupulous dealer, IMHO. I have seen them as high at $1500 on a C6 'Vette. Needless to say, I will never buy even a lug nut from a dealer with that lack of integrity.

This is the only dealer in town in Colorado. And the taxes in Colorado are outrageous high! I have no choice but to bite the bullet. I am still debating should I cancel my extended warranty ($1665) with the dealer or not.
