That is the link to the value of the TLs with 62K miles. For instance Capital One looks as the Clean Trade Value of the car and the amount the loan you is 110% of that.

You need some ammo to get that dealer to come down on the price a little (or go up on the price of your truck, which is the same effect). Show comparable listings to the dealer for other Type-S and let him know that while you really like the Type-S, you are willing to travel to go get one that is more reasonably priced (even if you don't really want to). Just make it clear that you want the car, but just won't pull the trigger at the current price. If he doesn't agree, leave your contact info and tell him to call you if they lower the price.

It does seem a little high, but unfortunately that seems to be the way it is right now. The used car market is high, which means that if you want something specific you'll have to pay for it. You may want to call some other dealers within driving distance and negotiate with them on a price. If you could get a similar car for less money, and pay for a one way plane ticket or a hotel room for a night or two it would definitely be worth it.

I bought my 08 TL-S with 36k for $21.5. Then again I thought I stole it especially because there weren't many (if any) TL-S's around the Upstate/Western NY area anywhere near that mileage/price.

I just picked up a 07 kinetic blue 6speed tl-s with 54k miles for 21.5k before tax/licensing.

So i ended up passing on that car. So got another question for you guys. I know this is a very noob mistake but i put 250 down on the car for them to hold it for me while we are hashing out he details... i no super rookie mistake dont put money down on the car. Well i did and they are trying to tell me that because its been a week and they have took it off the market for that week that they are not going to give me my money back. Well i did some researching and people say that if you didnt sign any contract then they have to give you your deposit back and he said over the phone that it was completely refundable. So my question is what is the best route to take to get my money back. Thanks in advance guys

That's a tough one. IMO, if you did not sign anything or if they did not explicitly tell you that the deposit is NON REFUNDABLE then you should be able to get it back. On the other side, you knew this would happen if you backed out.

I assume you have some sort of paperwork indicating you put a deposit on the car? Read it, and see if there are any clauses on it stating no refunds. If not, speak to the manager. If you paid via credit card, call them and open a complaint.

I paid 30k for a 2008 TL-type S with 30k mileage on it. However this is 30,000 kms, not miles, and in Canada where cars are typically 10-20% more expensive than in the US.

I got my 08 TL S with 29k on it for $27k out the door after tax and title. I live in Ohio. If you look on autotrader.com they have similar 08 TL'S but they are asking 29k$ soooo idk.. maybe the demand for TL-S went up.... according to Consumer reports the 08 is the best year for the TL.

This is just a gauge to see what you can expect to pay for a certain model of car. I filled it out based on the local market to me and as a private seller. Rule of thumb is $1K for every 10K Miles. So based on what 614erich paid, a reasonable offer will be around 23,500, but you also need to consider condition of the cars too. Good Luck!

Not to be a downer, but that's true for any car!lol Newer = Better = Less time to find problems, decay due to age.

I also got my 08 TLS in Ohio as well $26k after tax/title...33k miles. Most 08 TL-S are listed around 30k to be honest, which is crazy. I just wanted a TL-S with warranty, so had to go for 2008.
