IMO, yes. I'd reckon the mileage have to be closer to 30,000 to even attempt that kind of asking price.

For comparison, my sister just picked up a 2008 TL-S 6MT with 39k for $26k - from an Acura dealer.

It is certified one owner through a dealer. I live in the midwest and they are really hard to find also. Just have to sign the papers and i am having second thoughts that i didnt go low enough.

McDavid told me before if they took my car as it stood at 37,000 miles, they would most likely turn around & sale it on the certified pre-owned lot for $27K.

I guess you should ask yourself if its worth overpaying by $4-5k or travelling to pick up a cheaper or lower mileage model.

Side note - I like this one the most:

You can get a car shipped cross-country for, iirc, something like $600 - $800.

Could be worth it if the price is right.

Lets put it this way. What is the most you would pay for a one owner certified 08 type s auto white with white interior with brand new rubbers and pads on it and rotors just been turned down and fluids been flushed and replaced with 62000 miles?

Man i really need to join your fam.

BTW OP, it doesn't really matter per se. You have a nice car and thats all that matters, whether is cost a few grand more. If YOU feel like you got a good deal, it's all that matters. Look at it this way: It's YOUR car, YOU'RE the one who will be driving it, YOU'RE the one who's enjoying it! If i could get my hand on a car that I want, I wouldn't mind traveling or paying a premium for it. At the end its mine and im enjoying it, but it never hurts to get close to market value (a lot of factors can change this).

Is that the OTD price or is it +TTL? Either way that is just way to high. I'd keep looking or bargain some more. Don't talk to the dealer, take it straight to the manager and negotiate with him/her.

Good Luck!

Ok was that a 08 TL Type S 6mt? no, so its hard to use that as a valid point since we are not talking abnout the same cars. Either way though I agree with the majority here. $@6K is too high with that kind of mileage. For that price to be reasonable it would have to be a very clean one owner original paint (no accidents) 08 with 30Kish miles.
To give you an example of how that price is not good I just picked up a 2007 black on black TL-S HPT 6mt from the original owner with 62K miles for $22K. The car is immaculate believe it or not even with 62K.

OP - Since the car youre looking at isnt a 6MT, its even easier to find one. Id skip this one. Keep scouring Acura dealers for lease returns since its about that time for them to be returned.

And 62k is a lot of miles even for an '08.

I just bought an '08 Type S 6MT for $19,650. It currently has just under 98,000 miles

I was going to wait until I hit 100,000 to register, which should be in about a month or two, but this post inspired me for some reason lol.

I got a 08 TL (not 6 mt) with 23K miles for $24K. I just missed out on a 08 SSM Type S with around the same amount of miles for around $25. So with that amount of miles, the price seems high.

I agree that it is too high. You should expand your search and think about taking money you could save and buying a 1 way plane ticket and making a road trip back to break your new car in right.

Everyone should drive these cars about 700 miles immediately after ownership. They are just so damn comfortable to sit in and drive.

That's more than I would pay.

Why not buy a 1 way plane ticket and drive it back? You can save a lot.

I would love to fly and drive but i have to trade my truck off to get it. I just really fell in love with the type s and want one pretty bad. I just kinda screwed the pooch and let the dealer know how bad i wanted it so he is not willing to come down anymore It is super clean and is the white on white which is even more sexy and i am suppose to make a road trip up to apple river this weekend and would really like to have a sexy type s to make the drive in instead of my gas sucking truck. Idk i was kinda figuring i only live once and we are all going to die next year so might is well do it... or am i just being ignorant and should just wait and drive my gas sucker this weekend and hope that a cheaper type s makes it way into my neck of the woods. I just dont want to be waitng forever and making a long drive to another state is kinda out of the question cause of my work schedule.

  1. How old are you? Don't be offended. It helps to know.
  2. You learned that you never tip your cards so I will leave that alone.
  3. THOUSANDS of dollars for an over-priced car is not worth jumping the gun for something sexy for a weekend. Get a hot rental car or a HOOKER. You pick.
  4. Why not sell your truck privately instead of trading it in? You will get more for it?
I recommend taking your time to find one you like and for less money.

Yeah i meant taupe. I am 24 and live in iowa. All the type s around here are all priced that high. I still have a loan against the truck so it kinda makes it hard to sell it privately and the dealer is giving me 20800 for the truck so i cant really complain on that which is average trade in and the truck isnt immaculate by any means. I think there is a geographical difference in pricing on these for sure. I dont feel like driving my truck a day to 2 days to save a couple thousand and not know what it is actually like till i get there.

I guess what do you guys think is a good price for a one owner clear history certified types s with 62000 miles on it is worth. I can still try and work my way down and if they wont come down i will just wait

Quick Reply: Is $25,600 too much to pay for an '08 Acura TL Type S with 62,000 miles?
