$22,000 for an 08 TL with 5,000 miles? This sound right?

I was bored and browsing craigslist when I saw an add for a WDP 08 TL base (NO NAV) listed at $22,000 with only 5,000 miles. I was curious so I called and its a private owned vehicle and is still available for sale. He says no accidents all original and that he simply needs it gone.
Does this sound like a killer deal or nothing out of the ordinary? I know it doesnt have nav which is a huge negative. KBB says $29,000 for excellent condition base w/o nav TL.
Im not in the market as I have an 07 Type S but could be cool to buy the car then sell for a couple thousand more right away :-) maybe im dreamin who knows lol

I would make sure and VISIT THE CAR to see it in PERSON. Do not WIRE any money over the net.

That's all I got for tips.

pay 50-100 bucks to have acura give a diagnosis of it ... if hes willing to let it get inspected by them and it checks out... go for it

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I know about all the scams out there and I would certainly not wire or give someone money to someone without 100% knowing that its legit and the car isnt some totalled POS. Im working on getting the VIN.

Sounds too good to be true since Stanley can sell the car to a used car dealer for $25,000 easily if the car is indeed in excellent shape and everything else is in order.

even for a non-NAV...sounds too good - unless the seller has some sort of financial urgency.

I found an 07 TL Type S with 12k miles on it and he was asking $16k. I did some research and found it to be a scam. The pictures he posted were from another car listed thru a dealership.

Thats exactly what I was thinking to. I figured even trade in value is more than what he is asking. I havent called him back yet to get more info.

getting an AUTOCHECK report is imperative. what small dealership are starting to do is buy cars from auctions with frame damage, and sell them a couple thousand less than KBB and marking it a "great value". Autocheck.com is a more thorough search that will always give you every little detail of the cars history.

^^I forgot to mention that these cars bought at the auctions with the damaged frames show up clean on a carfax, but not on autocheck

The car isnt from a small dealership its private owned. As far as carfax or autocheck if I were to get serious about the car and see it in person I would inspect it myself. Its very easy to tell if the TL still has all original paint on it.

Seems like a decent deal. I don't get why that person wouldn't go straight to a dealer and probably get more money. Craiglist is such a shady way to sell this kind of stuff.

Dealer probably tried to offer the dude 19K for trade in so he decided to sell himself. Check it out in person and go for it. My friend just bought a similar one with a little more miles for $25K...so it sounds feasible to me...anything less than 22 I would say scam all day though.
