$17,500 trade in value on 06 TL w/Navi
Thought you'd like to know how much the store where I work paid for my client's car. Pearl White/Ebony A/T with about 35k on it.

Seems a bit low to me meaning the dealership got a good deal. I'm assuming the car was in good condition. 17,500 is would be fair to the client if the car had a few issues with it: curb rash, scratches, etc. Now for my baby, I would never sell it for that price or even 4K more.

To the other poster, Auction prices are always much cheaper than dealer prices.

Wow some of you are getting a little upset. If you are selling or trading your car and don't like the deal, don't go for it. 17,500 trade in value may sound low but what about the other side of the deal? How much was the price of the replacement car. Dealers aways try to tell you they will give you so much for a trade but then inflate the new vehicle price to make up the difference. It's all smoke and mirrors.

^ This is exactly why I don't trade in cars to the dealer usually- just one of my 6 cars owned has been traded in. Most people will do better selling the car themselves and renting a car for a few days or a week while shopping for the new car even factoring the sales tax savings on a trade-in.
It behooves anyone doing trade-ins to look at any of the many valuation sites before seeing any dealer. I like www. Edmunds.com and others have been given in this thread already.

here's my experience, w/in the last 8 months, here in NC & SC:
April 09: Bought my non-CPO 07 TL-S M/T w/ 28k miles, for 25,000.
Over the next 60 days, my wife complains incessantly about the M/T. For kicks, I get a quote from a local Acura dealer, and CarMax.
June 09:
CarMax- offers $20,200
Acura- offers $22,600 (both figures are to buy the car, not trade-in value)
Two weeks later, Acura sends me a letter with a phone #, to call for "an increased amount than previously offered".
I don't call back- damn I love that M/T......

Luckily both my husband and I love M/T. If you wife would give it a chance-she would learn to love it, too.

Even tho she took to it well (no stalls, smooth-ish excelerations, etc), she was stressed out the entire time.
She still drives the M/T occasionally, but she's definately not a fan (a subject I hear about frequently at home!)
