Ok...im dropping my cousin off on thanksgiving....driving down a sidestreet..low and behold the ground from beneath me dissappears (construction the whole road was ripped up) before i know it and before i could slow down enough it reappears...lol...now dissappears a piece of my paycheck...564 for an oil pan job...yes a $100 oil pan costs $400 to install....damaged A pipe...dealer charges 340 just for pipe i found online for 255....but they want 300 to install that so all in all the dealer thanked me for giving them a whole load of money....later

 

you should have got a police report... 'cause the contractor would have paid all your bills...

Getting harder to have that happen - though a police report would help. They will still fight that shit until the end and hope the other party loses interest. Used to be a lot easier.

Several years ago, I hit a large rock that came from a deteriorationg conrete highway divider here in Pennsylvania. All our highways are falling apart so everyone told me I was wasting my time trying to collect from PENDOT. Well.....I'm stubborn so I filed a report. I got a phone call from a highway inspector. I told him about the highway, where it happened, and said...."Go look for yourself....there's rocks everywhere on the highway".
Well....several months later....I got a check from the "Great State of Penncilpenis".....for almost $300 to cover the damage caused by that rock. I was blown away....I never thought I'd get a penny. I still wish I scanned the check so I could prove it to my friends...they still don't believe I got anything from the State.
Go after the Construction Company, the State....whatever. Use whatever receipts you got...that's what I did. I didn't file a Police report either.
