Hemholtz resonators transfer?
Hemholtz resonators transfer?
So I'm not a member of the bent rim club. I wish it was more exclusive... :-/
Anyway, I purchased a refurbished wheel, and it looks great, but it does not have the Hemholtz resonator in it. My old rim has it. Can this be transferred easily to the new rim? I may return the wheel if I cannot move it or if it is too much of a hassle. Would the tire shop likely do this or is it more involved?

I have 4 RLX OEM rims in my garage collecting dust. I couldn't tell if the noise reducing resonator snaps on and also glued in place? Very thick plastic and hard to pry up with screwdriver on the ends and it sits in the resonator tracks pretty good.
I ended up getting a pinch flat on OEM rims a few days after purchase in 2019 from a winter pothole on the hwy exit ramp. So lucky I purchased the spare tire kit suggested by other forum members to get me back home. I was fortunate to only have a pinch flat without a bent rim. I double-checked into an OEM rim replacement and they were expensive and very hard to find back then when 2020 RLXs were still new on the lot. I decided to upgrade to aftermarket rims since they are easier to find, cheaper price, and look better to me compared to OEM. Ended up hitting another pothole last winter with my aftermarket rims. I bent the rim; but, no pinch flat with same original tires. It came out around the same $$$ replacing a pinch flat OEM tire as it did to replace my 19X8 Petrol P4B aftermarket rim I purchased from Discount Tires. I ended up purchasing a 5th rim/tire combo as a full size spare I keep in the garage along with the donut in the trunk. I even replaced the donut with the full size once with minimal loss in trunk space when I took a +16hr round-trip to Las Vegas in Feb of this year.

Did you get it figured out yet?
I decided to stop holding on to my RLX sport hybrid rims and put them up for sale:
