Interior Cabin Filter

Recently bought a 2014 RLX Tech pkg and it had a musty smell coming from the fan / ac. Took it to the dealer and told them about it and they claimed it was condensation and to run the AC for a bit to clear it up.

On the advice of a friend I checked out the interior cabin filter....and low and behold it looked like this......

Obviously my service advisor, who I have a good relationship with was taken aback by the fact his techs didnt check and replace the interior cabin filter.....

musty smell gone......

A DIY repair. The dealer will charge you $99 to replace a $22 part.

The tech's at dealers are lazy at time, if you decide to take your car in always ask exactly what they did to troubleshoot the issue.
